Position Summary

The Pricing Manager develops pricing strategies, identifies target markets, tracks and reports markets trends, and fully understands the impact of pricing on profit margins. The manager conducts a variety of analyses to develop effective pricing strategies and market evaluations in order to recommend market level pricing. Through the analysis of FOB's, PTR's, PTC's and other external information, the manager critically analyzes both frontline and promoted pricing, ensures guidelines are in place, followed, and reports the results to management. The Pricing Manager takes the lead on being a change agent, developing new methodologies and processes. This position works closely with Sales, Finance and Marketing.


  • Develop, implement, and support pricing strategies.

  • Track and monitor pricing initiatives, strategies, annual and promoted price actions.

  • Provide monthly reporting on industry and competitive pricing trends, using internal and syndicated data. Using a fact based approach, Identify issues and opportunities and communicate them in a clear, concise fashion.

  • Provide advanced level of pricing and margin analysis.

  • Evaluate competitive pricing and its impact on CBBD brands

  • Participate in any price training, development opportunities, and activities related to the Revenue Management function.

  • Support the Revenue Council in the development of the annual price and promotional plan.

  • Frequent interaction with team members, senior management, cross functional teams and other departments. Involves exchange of complex information and strong influencing skills. Requires ability to coordinate resources and provide guidance to others as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA a plus

  • 5+ years of work experience in relevant position(s), Alcohol Beverage or CPG Industry experience preferred

  • Strong data analysis capabilities required, including Advanced Excel skills (knowledge of data formatting and formulas, filters, pivot tables, macros, etc.).

  • Significant Experience/Knowledge with data mining and econometric modeling

  • Extensive knowledge/experience with syndicated market data (Nielsen, IRI, PTA, Market Track)

  • Strong analytical, decision making, and interpersonal skills

  • Highly motivated, results oriented individual who excels in dynamic environment.

  • Fluency in Cognos, Hyperion, Essbase. Familiarity with Oracle-based applications like Demantra and JD Edwards a plus.

  • Strong results orientation with ability to consistently meet commitments and deadlines for him/herself and those of his/her team. High levels of energy and resiliency.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities and make ongoing decisions. Proven ability to break down complex problems into manageable goals.

  • Excellent time management, project planning, and organizational skills.

  • High level of integrity and professional judgement, with the ability to effectively manage highly sensitive, confidential information.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including sharing ideas and information across diverse audiences, and producing high-quality deliverables to drive business decisions.

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.

  • Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods of time

  • Primary work environment is professional corporate office

Do you have a love of fine wine & spirits, sales, and a strong understanding of the industry? As a Luxury Sales Manager, On-Premise, you'll work with our on-premise accounts to present Gallo luxury products at fine dining, high end bars, hotels, your favorite speak-easy – places you probably already have relationships. You'll engage with bartenders, maître d's, sommeliers, and fine restaurants owners to develop awareness and drive sales of our luxury wine & spirits portfolio. We're looking for someone with enthusiasm for wine & spirits and an eagerness to learn more – someone who will work about 70% in trade and 30% in consumer activation, managing about 50 accounts at a given time. Your responsibilities will include promoting our brands to an influential customer base and in cooperation with other departments, you'll drive brand activation and host memorable events for high-end venues and guests. Our clientele will come to see you as a valued partner and subject matter expert. You'll inspire others with your enthusiasm for the Gallo luxury brands. Ideally, you'll bring an adaptable nature that allows you to transition smoothly between client calls to activation events and leading executive presentations. As a wine & spirit evangelist, you'll have an insatiable intellectual curiosity and always stay up-to-date on global and local market trends that you'll happily share with your robust social following. The Day-to-Day You'll be responsible for developing best practices for conducting luxury activations, managing a travel and expense budget along with overall finances, and managing customer/consumer distribution lists to share digital content. You'll also be tasked with understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental, and safety regulatory considerations pertaining to the wine & spirits industry – you get it – adult beverage is highly regulated.
