The 6-month internship will expose a high-performing student to an opportunity to make a difference at Volkswagen Group of America. The finance internship provides a unique opportunity to understand how the business measures its financial health across its different entities in North America (USA, CAN, and MEX). The intern is responsible for supporting standard financial processes, reporting, and documenting the landscape. The function is part of the North American finance pricing department and is reporting to the manager of pricing.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Document standard processes within the pricing department

  • Preparation of financial data for budget and planning around deliverables

  • Present key findings and recommendations for cross-functional collaboration between the various finance departments

  • Various special projects


  • Must be enrolled at a University/College or Graduation date must be within the last six months

  • Candidates should be pursuing a BA/BS degree in Finance, Operations Management, Business Management, Supply Chain Management or related fields

  • Good analytical capability

  • High level of reliability

Role Summary This position is responsible for coordinating all project pricing relating activities for Volkswagen NAR Region (US, Mexico, and Canada) for certain carlines, ensuring alignment with the markets and with the key functions at the VW global headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany. The main activities will be the preparation of the Project Palette including price derivations for cars & options; factory wholesale (FOB) pricing; and fulfillment of the internal pricing (e-VPS) system. Support in the preparation of feature-price (CVP) workshops in order to define the correct price values for each of the NAR markets. Support in the preparation of the Basket Workshops, including the preparation of basket scorecards. Reviewing the Price premises for all NAR projects, in order to provide input for Planning Rounds (previously aligned with the markets), as well as supporting the annual price inflation process. Additionally, this role will provide support in the analysis and allocation of incentives, and will collaborate in the preparation of the Registrierkasse providing pricing input. Role Responsibilities * Close collaboration with the markets, in the preparation of pricing proposals that are aligned with market requirements, and compliant with current approved VW pricing methodology. * Support in driving the project to achieve the financial target * Ensure that the Project Palette is reflected accurately in e-VPS (Commercial offer & Pricing) * Conducts regular operative meetings and CVP studies together with the markets, in order to prepare the basis for the CVP workshop discussions * Conducts regular operative meetings and Basket reviews together with the markets (incl. volume, product/price, consideration), in order to prepare the basis for the Basket workshop discussions * Assists in the preparation of Basket scorecards * Review & confirmation of official/latest status of price premises that will be part of the Planning Round * Close collaboration with the markets in determining the proposed price inflation for all NAR models, ensuring alignment between the markets, the NAR region, and WOB. * Ensures that the Registrierkasse for projects, will always reflect the latest official status: product, pricing and volume. Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree * Initiative, attention to detail, proven problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under time constraints. * Capability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment * Ability to analyze product and price proposals, providing recommendations based on market research. * Excellent interpersonal communication skills: listening, oral and written presentation of ideas. * Ability to organize and plan work according to timelines and priorities / Managing others' expectations * Experience working with cross-functional projects and teams * Experience with external and/or internal Volkswagen Pricing software * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications * Extensive Excel knowledge including formulas, referencing, linking, macros, etc. * Extensive Power Point capabilities, with the ability to create aesthetically pleasing and functional presentations.
