SUMMARY

The Pricing Analyst will assist in determining our long-term and short-term pricing strategies, monitor and price inventory with a focus on revenue optimization, and participate in various aspects of revenue management including analytics, reporting, new opportunity identification, and strategic development. This position will also be involved in scheduled/ad-hoc reporting and tools/application development. They will contribute to the execution of our overall pricing and selling strategies while testing and refining tactical decisions. Applicants are expected to have strong quantitative and excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively manage large amounts of ticket inventory while effectively communicating their strategies.

The Pricing Analyst will report to the Director, Pricing Analytics & Strategy.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Navigate large historical and current season data sets; build reports to assist in the creation of short-term and long-term distribution and pricing strategies.

  • Examine historical sales data in conjunction with real-time market prices to determine demand-supply dynamics on current inventory.

  • Assist in creating long-term and short-term pricing and inventory management strategies.

  • Perform market research and quantitative analysis to create pricing and inventory management recommendations and set price levels.

  • Closely monitor sales trends and market sales.

  • Build reports with comprehensive price analysis at the season and individual event level.

  • Adjust pricing and inventory in company ticketing systems daily.

  • Build datasets and visualizations to help identify pricing and inventory trends and monitor the health of the marketplace.

  • Work closely with other analytics team members to identify trends and opportunities to implement differing pricing strategies;

  • Become a subject matter expert and act as a liaison to partners and other teams and leagues on marketplace performance, inventory management, and pricing strategies.

  • Work with other market experts, teams, and leagues to gather actionable insights from competitive pricing and inventory trends.

  • Support Business Intelligence and application development staff to continually improve current tools and technology product offerings.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • At least 1 year of experience in a pricing or inventory management/strategy-related capacity required.

  • Prior ticketing experience is preferred, not a requirement.

  • Proficiency in data analysis especially Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, etc); expertise highly preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Power Point, Excel and Word) required.

  • Proficiency in the usage of Structured Query Language (MySQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL) and at least one of the following programming languages: Python, R, Java is preferred.

  • Experience evaluating, analyzing, and recommending pricing strategies.

  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI or Tableau is preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

May be required to travel on rare occasions (<5% travel); trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.

SALARY RANGE

$75,000 - $90,000 base salary

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works primarily in an office environment but is expected to work late hours when critical and time-sensitive tasks arise, and attend games and other events on evenings, weekends and holidays. Various events will require working evening and weekend hours in order to see the sales cycle through completion.
