Specifics of the role
Reports to the Equipment Manager.
Perform preventive maintenance repairs on earthmoving equipment.
What we expect
Occasionally perform minor repairs on equipment, such as replace hydraulic hoses, grease lines, etc.
Responsible for collecting and processing fluid oil samples.
Perform quick walk-around inspection of equipment and report any problematic items to Plateau's Assistant Equipment Manager
Ensure safety devices are functional, such as seat belts, back-up alarms, fire extinguishers, horns, glass, etc.
Operate commercial truck and earthmoving equipment.
Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
Work more than 40 hours per week, including some weekends.
Willingness to travel to out-of-state projects as needed.
May be required to lift and carry short distances up to 50 pounds.
Physically climb on and off equipment safely.
Work in shop or field environment and tolerate all weather climates.
Abide by Plateau safety policy.
Items to know
Moderate physical stress and long hours often required.
Working environment is outdoors and in varying types of weather and temperatures.
Must have a valid GA Class B CDL with an acceptable driving record per company minimum standards for drivers.
Must have a clean DMV driving record.
HazMat and Tanker endorsements would be preferred, but not mandatory at time of hire.
Prefer completion of Heavy Equipment/Diesel Technology program from an accredited vocational or technical school.
3 years of experience in a related field.
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
