Georgia-Pacific's Oriented Strand Board (OSB) plant in Alcolu, South Carolina has an incredible opportunity for a Preventative Maintenance Technician (Reliability).
This is a DAY SHIFT position, and the hours are 7:00am
3:00pm EST. The work schedule is Monday
Friday.
The Preventative Maintenance Technician (Reliability) supports the mill reliability improvement program and helps create long-term value by safely improving equipment reliability. You will be an owner and participant in implementing strategies, affecting culture, and building resilience in our systems that will result in increased reliability and operability of the Clarendon OSB mill. Candidates interested in the position must have the ability to work in heights, wear a half face respirator, and ability to work overtime when needed. After one year of employment with us, the employee, will be responsible for taking a CAT 1 Vibration Analyst test. Georgia Pacific will cover the expense of the CAT 1 Vibration Analyst test.
Our Team
Our Clarendon OSB facility in Alcolu, SC is one of Georgia-Pacific's newest facilities using some of the most advanced technology to create the specialty brand of Blue Ribbon Oriented Strand Board (OSB). This type of OSB is used for floor, wall, and roof sheathing in residential and light commercial construction applications.
What You Will Do
Collect vibration data, analyze data, recommend corrective actions, report findings to mill management, and advocate for completion
Perform Infrared technology
Perform Ultrasonic technology
Aid in applying best lubrication practices
Collect oil samples, send off for analysis, and advocate completion of any non-conformances
Use a POD system to identify ISO cleanliness of hydraulic and other process oil systems
Schedule, participate, led RCFAs and track action item completion status weekly
Drive a culture of ownership and discipline of precision maintenance
Respond to non-conformance alerts through several condition monitoring systems (such as Smart Diagnostics, Siteview, Worldview, Atonix Asset 360, AOD, etc.)
Perform Precision Maintenance (laser alignment, belt tensioning, etc.)
Navigate and use CMMS system (MOE and MP2) to Write Requisitions, Work Request, PMs, and identify spare parts
Regularly review all equipment failures and current inspection methods to determine the PM actions that may have prevented failure and reducing the likelihood of reoccurrence
Participate in the maintenance optimization process that determines PM frequency, indicators, and inspection methods
Assist in applying value analysis to make maintenance decisions, i.e., repair/replace and repair/redesign
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Experience working in a manufacturing environment OR educated in a relative field
Proficient computer skills, including by not limited to Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
What Will Put You Ahead
At least 2 years' experience in maintenance and/or reliability in a manufacturing environment
CAT 1 Vibration Analyst Certified
Ultrasonic (UT) Level 1 Certificated
Infrared (IR) Level 1 Certified
Machinery Lubrication Technician (MLT 1) Certified
Laser Alignment experience
