Polychem LLC, a leader in the packaging industry, is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. Excellent entry level maintenance position and training opportunity.

Daily duties include (but not limited to):

Routine facility Maintenance checks.

Machine-related Preventative Maintenance - Cooling Systems, gear boxes, motors, fans, dryers, grinders.

Replacing air filters and pit filters; changing dust collector canisters; blade changes.

Minor maintenance on forklifts; roll and bearing rebuilds.

Troubleshoot minor issues; assist Maintenance Techs on projects

Join our fast paced, multi-process 24/7 manufacturing team! <h3>General Purpose</h3>Maintain process manufacturing equipment in a 24/7 plastic extrusion production facility. Equipment includes all electrical and mechanical systems such as: motors, gearboxes, roll stacks, process ovens, plumbing systems, material feed systems. Position Summary The Manager, Facilities Maintenance will be responsible for managing inspecting and maintaining facility systems such as, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal operating results. The successful candidate will oversee the company's facility operations, manage maintenance staff, facilitate office moves and manage janitorial duties, all while remaining in compliance with STERIS standards as well as local, state, federal and all governing regulations. What You Will Do * Uphold STERIS's Business Practice Standards and follow all established company policies and procedures. * Develop routine systems to ensure constant monitoring of STERIS Mentor Facilities to include any problem areas. * Ensure consistent maintenance and repair methods for all building components. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly building inspections with a high attention to detail to identify necessary repairs. * Coordinate and oversee routine maintenance for all Mentor Facilities to include timely repairs in the areas of painting, carpentry, plumbing, food and beverage equipment, seating and all related building components. * Provide constant attention to all safety issues; ensure building emergency systems are operational through in-house inspections and vendor maintenance contracts, licenses or similar. * Supervise, inspect and provide direction and follow-up with janitorial/cleaning service provider. Ensure compliance with contract and STERIS cleaning standards. * Follow instructions on safe use of all chemicals/cleaning materials. * Supervise various administrative tasks for Mailroom and Mentor Maintenance staff including, presort mail services, vendor meetings and memos sent on behalf of the Global Facilities and Real Estate Department. Order necessary supplies to satisfy the needs of the Mentor Maintenance Department including paper, postage, mailroom items, cleaning supplies and other miscellaneous equipment. * Increase the efficiency of the Facilities Maintenance staff by providing cost saving ideas, new and innovative ways to provide more effective services. * Maintain spreadsheet of door/office keys and inventory of existing keys and distribute when necessary. * Assist in the coordination of individual and large-scale cubical moves and reconfigurations throughout the Mentor Facilities as may be assigned by manager. * Prepare the Facilities Maintenance Department Fiscal Year Expense Budget for Director Global Facilities. Maintain and review with manager on monthly basis. * Provide written reports documenting Mentor Facilities Maintenance Department operations as may be assigned by manager. * Coordinate and organize Mentor Facilities Maintenance Department during evacuations and emergency response situations with manager and other STERIS response teams. * Participate in coordination of means, methods and task with other Global Facilities sites and teams as may be directed by manager. * Manage facilities maintenance software and related systems as may be requested by manager. * Assist with coordination and management of Global Records Retention and retention policy. Education Degree What You Need to be Successful * HS Diploma/GED plus 11 years of experience or Associate's Degree plus 7 years of experience within maintenance or facilities * 5+ years' experience in facilities management * 3+ years in a supervisory or lead position * Must maintain knowledge of technical, building operations, basic mechanical systems and facilities management best practices * Understanding of basic accounting and finance principles * Knowledge of building maintenance, repair, construction, materials, and equipment * Able to read and understand blue prints, electrical, mechanical and automation systems * Valid Drivers License * Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems preferred * Demonstrated strong leadership skills * Ability to work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. * Impeccable verbal and written communication skills * Excellent project management skills * Good analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills * Must have computer proficiency in Microsoft suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
