Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Performs preventive maintenance on production equipment using PM program by cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears.

  • Documents preventive maintenance activities and checklists

  • General facility care including, but not limited to, snow shoveling, floor cleaning and grounds clean up

  • Makes minor repairs to production and facility equipment using drill press, welder and hand tools

  • Minor facility repairs to walls and trim and assists with general facilities duties

  • Responds to other maintenance and janitorial duties as they are assigned by Maintenance Supervisor

  • Operate warehouse equipment, including Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs) and obtain required certification

This position will require:

  • Working a fixed third shift (11:00pm 7:00am, Sunday Thursday)

This position may require:

  • Overtime as business needs occur

  • Weekend work as business needs occur

  • Lifting up to 40 lbs. (unassisted)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working with basic tools and equipment such as drill press, welder, grinders and hand tools

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum one (1) year of Maintenance experience

  • Experience reading schematics

VIEW JOBS 10/11/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-09T00:00 Job Description Job Description Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Primary Job Responsibilities: With minimal technical guidance, the Maintenance Mechanic keeps plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair. Examines machines to diagnose trouble, dismantles machines, replaces defective parts, reassembles machines and makes necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation. Much of the time spent is addressing emergency equipment repairs, completing PM's, Assist in complex changeover, and working with other experienced mechanics. 1. Troubleshoots, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on buildings and production equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, electrical systems, machining, welding, and carpentry. 2. Efficiently and safely uses a variety of tools and materials in machine and building maintenance (includes most power tools, hand tools, machine shop equipment, personal computer, electrical testing equipment, metals, plastics, rubber, PVC, Teflon, both metric and English hardware, electrical parts, wood and wood products and wood fasteners). May also use forklifts and other lifting equipment in performing work. 3. Promptly notifies the appropriate resources (internal and external) in the event major repairs to equipment or facilities are needed and provides accurate communication/documentation to assist in the repair. 4. Works with machine vendors to assist in repairing machines and ordering parts. 5. Installs and assists in the installation of equipment. 6. Promptly and accurately completes forms, records and reports used to document the status of department projects and tasks. 7. Assists in developing and carrying out preventive maintenance program. 8. Maintains effective and respectful working relationships with other associates. 9. Actively participates in and supports teamwork, continuous process improvement, and lean manufacturing principles. 10. Demonstrates flexibility and commitment through cross training and helping other departments consistent with business needs. 11. Maintains a neat and orderly work area. 12. Performs duties safely and in accordance with company safety policies. 13. Performs light construction projects including building shelving, storage bins, or similar fixtures. 14. May be required to work irregular hours or return to the plant after the shift in the event of unexpected mechanical breakdowns or for other special assignments. 15. May install or replace electrical wiring and devices under a Master Electricians license. 16. May perform minor computer setups or repairs with the assistance and/or direction of the IS Department. 17. Performs other duties as needed.
