Evans provides staffing services for a automotive parts manufacturer in Chesterfield, Michigan. The positions can turn into full time employment with the company after three months. We have has several immediate openings for Press Operators. The Press Operator works in a team to assemble automotive parts. Safety, communication and timing are critical.

These positions are full time with opportunities for overtime. Shifts are 6 am to 4:30 pm on days and 4:30 pm to 2:30 am at night. Starting pay is $10.50 / hour on days and $11 / hour on nights. The normal work week is Monday through Thursday. With good attendance and productivity, you will receive a $0.50 increase at 30 days and another $0.50 increase after 90 days. Evans also provides: medical, dental and optical insurance as well as paid time off.

The facility is located west of I-94 and 23 Mile Road.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Nest parts together and insert into press bed.

  • Engage press, keeping hands clear.

  • Change part position, add additional parts and change tool head.

  • Repeat press function.

  • Remove completed parts and stage for next work cell.

  • Assemble protective packaging.

  • Test and visually inspect completed parts for defects.

  • Place completed parts into dunnage for shipment.

Requirements:

  • Education
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • No experience required.

  • No travel required.

  • Pre Employment Testing

  • Must pass drug screening and criminal background check.

Major Responsibilities: * Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs. * Repetitively pick cardboard boxes and pallets. * Move materials within the warehouse. * Accurately stage and sort products for loading. * Forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment may be used to transport product within the warehouse. * Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable) * Accurately stage and sort products for loading * Loads and unloads trailers * Maintain a clean and safe work area * Sorts and places parts in racks or other designated area * Complies with all safety requirements. * Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications: * At least 1 year of warehousing or material-handling (using hand/power tools and hand truck) equipment experience required * High school diploma or equivalent preferred * Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required * Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexibile, excellent with numbers and time management skills required * Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook required (where applicable by location) * Flexible to work overtime preferred * Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions required * Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job * Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
