Press Operator

Position Summary

Working in a manufacturing setting operating machining equipment to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parties by performing the set-ups, conventional, special purpose, and numerical control machines.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Comprehensive understanding of blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

• Measures, marks, and scribes' dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.

• Manufacturing of die parts (punches, die sections, forming details, etc.) by utilizing department equipment.

• Moderate ability to operate and maintain stamping press, vertical mill, surface grinding and other general machining skills.

• Adaptability to perform duties and work overtime as demand requires.

• Adhere to Employee's Responsibilities section set forth in Conco's Safety Policies & Procedure Manual

Skills

• Strong attention to detail.

• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use simple math, and use basic handheld measuring tools.

• Must be familiar with the basic machine functions to perform the tasks above.

• This position requires an organized, self-motivated individual.

• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and/or priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.

• Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance concerning machine set-up

Qualifications

Experience & Education

• High School Diploma (GED or High School Equivalence Certificate accepted);

• Must be authorized to work within the United States.

• Two years of related experience in a press environment

Physical Requirements

• Frequent lifting or moving of materials up to 75 lbs. must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. overhead.

• Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold, and/or noisy areas).

• Frequent hand-to-finger, handle-feel objects & tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing.

• Physically submit to periodic drug tests (employment is contingent upon favorable results)
