Do you have experience working with Press Brake machines? Are you mechanically inclined? You came to the right place if you answered yes. As an employee/owner at MEC, you will be responsible for setup, adjust and operate all sizes of press brakes to perform a wide variety of forming, notching, bending, and punch operations on a diversified line of work. Work from drawings, patterns, templates, and specifications.

A role like this comes with some important responsibilities, some of those responsibilities include:

  • Lays out or details layout on work stock from blueprints.

  • Positions workpiece manually or with crane.

  • Starts machine to lower ram or depresses pedal to activate ram that bends or cuts metal.

  • Verifies dimensions of workpiece and make adjustments if necessary.

  • Ability to determine proper dies, setups of dies, setup of gauges, and adjustment of ram stroke to from all types of parts to proper angle and length without the use of work instruction.

  • Ability to determine forming sequence of multiple hit parts without the use of work instruction.

  • Capable of writing work instruction once part setup has been established.

  • Use vernier, protractor, indicator, radii gauges, etc.

  • Proceed with minimum supervision and instruction.

What Does It Take to Be a Fit for This Role?

  • Having Press Brake experience is preferred.

  • Ability to understand work orders and follow instructions.

  • Ability to understand and follow at MEC safety policies and procedures.

  • Ability to left up to 50 lbs at a time. This position involves a lot of bending, twisting and lifting.

Responsibilities may include loading, moving materials, assisting in loading machines, positioning work, setting up jobs, making adjustments or operating machines, final assembly operations plugging, visual inspections. Performs hand operations, such as filing, de-burring, cleaning, disc grinding, palletizing, banding, folding, etc. Uses torque wrench and hand tools as needed.</p><p>Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Lifts, positions, and removes work pieces from machines to assist in assembly, forming, fitting and welding</p></li><li><p>Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand, pallet jack, or dolly</p></li><li><p>Cleans, scrapes, and grinds metal to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping</p></li><li><p>Sets up machines and/or helps set up machines for operation and may make minor adjustments as needed; Runs machines after set-up</p></li><li><p>Checks and monitors the condition of dies, punches, and quality of product being produced</p></li><li><p>Accurately measures and reads blueprints to check parts for compliance</p></li><li><p>Picks up and moves scrap from work areas, cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment</p></li><li><p>Performs final assembly operations</p></li><li><p>Ensures adequate supply of stock is at station to run machines; operate hoists and slings; fills out production reports and labels product as needed</p></li><li><p>May conduct helium testing of product, prepare tank for wash line and test and install metal fittings into fuel tanks</p></li><li><p>Repairs and assembles pallets using power saw and hand tools</p></li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</p><p>High school diploma or general education degree (GED) combined with or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p><p>LANGUAGE ABILITY</p><p>Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
