Ensuresthat press is properly supplied with stock. Maintains appropriate paperwork or records. We assist with pre-make-readies and make-readies.
Preparesthe press for a run by verifying job specs and setting up the pressaccordingly.
Inspectsthe fountain solution, inking systems
Maintainsproper inventory of paper. Records usage and spoilage
Ensuresthat the paper is properly loaded.
Monitorsthe flow of paper throughout the run. Prepares and loads paper when necessary.
Works inconjunction with the press operators and other assigned Press Assistants in thepreventative maintenance of the presses. Assists maintenance personnel introubleshooting and making repairs to press.
May adjustink, solvent, and varnish to ensure that proper color is established ormaintained as required by location.
Bring plates from prelim and organize in plate cabinet, layout platesin forecast order, and inspect plates for quality defects.
Prepare printing units not in use. Change ink, if necessary, and wash down rollers.
During make-ready: changeplates, wash and scour blankets, prepare printing units, set register, drawline-up. Make-ready feeder anddelivery.
During run: Monitor register andmake adjustments if needed and work on pre-make-ready for upcoming jobs. Feed stock into press.
Perform all of the duties ofSheetfed press leader in their absence.
Adheres toand promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited tothe proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out rules and hearingand eye protection policies.
Performs otherrelated duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Able to stand forextended periods and lift up to 75lbs.
Ability to work withsolvents and ink and possess color acuity skills
Ability to do basicmathematics and have sound mathematical reasoning.

Previoussuccessful operation of multi-function machines including using hydraulics,pneumatics and electronics
Experience with mechanicalhand tools and measurement devices (standard and metric) required.
Mustlist all relevant skills and qualifications for position when applying.
Ability towork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Ability towork a rotating shift, weekends and overtime as needed
Must be ingood standing with no current final warnings
Must meetminimum requirements stated above
Preferencegiven to those in current position no less than 90 days
Previous experiencewith a Heidelberg printing press or work in a printing environment preferred.
