Summary

This position will serve as a Prescription Eyeglass Maker

  • Helper assigned to the Veterans Administration Optical Laboratory located at the Park Fletcher Industrial Complex at 5610 Dividend Drive in Indianapolis, Indiana.
    Responsibilities

Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Performs a variety of duties involved in the fabrication of prescription eye glasses;
Performs inventory management involving ordering supplies and storage of lens and frame stock, conducts physical inventories, restocks supply points;
Receives frames, lenses and consumable supplies and puts them in the correct storage area;
Verifies orders for accuracy and completeness; and
Keeps a running inventory of lens, frames and consumable supplies.
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: He/she normally works with small, light items.

The employee may be required to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion. Depending on assignment he/she may sit or stand for extended periods of time. Close eye and hand coordination is required. Employee will work Indoors in a climate-controlled environment He/she is subject to occasional cuts bruises, abrasions burns and high noise levels.
