Our Connellsville Child Care Center Preschool is looking for a Full-Time Preschool Teacher.

What are the duties and responsibilities?

Curriculum Development:

  • Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with educational goals.

  • Create lesson plans and daily schedules that include a variety of activities.

Classroom Management:

  • Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Implement effective behavior management strategies and promote a culture of respect.

Educational Instruction:

  • Provide engaging and age-appropriate instruction in various subjects, including language arts, math, science, and creative arts.

  • Foster language development and communication skills.

Individualized Learning:

  • Assess and monitor the developmental progress of each child.

  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

Parent Communication:

  • Maintain open and regular communication with parents.

  • Provide updates on children's activities, progress, and developmental milestones.

Health and Safety:

  • Ensure the health and safety of children in the classroom.

  • Follow health and safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Creative Activities:

  • Plan and facilitate creative activities, including arts and crafts, music, and imaginative play.

  • Incorporate play-based learning to enhance social and cognitive skills.

Outdoor Play:

  • Organize and supervise outdoor play and physical activities.

  • Create opportunities for gross motor skill development.

Cultural Sensitivity:

  • Foster an understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity.

  • Integrate multicultural perspectives into classroom activities.

Assessment and Documentation:

  • Conduct ongoing assessments of children's progress.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of individual student achievements.

Professional Development:

  • Stay informed about current early childhood education trends and best practices.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a Human Service related field is the minimum education requirement.

  • State teaching certification or licensure for preschool education.

  • Previous experience as a preschool teacher or in a similar role preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of child development and early childhood education principles.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.

  • CPR and First Aid certification.

  • Completed background check.
