Position Title: Preschool Teacher Assistant
Neff Early Childhood Center: Monday

• Friday / 12:00 pm

• 6:00 pm

Qualifications:
Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
Child Development Associate Credential (CDA)
Experience working with preschool children
First Aid and CPR Certified
Knowledge of DHS Licensing Requirements

Skills and Abilities:
Must have the ability to understand preschool children and find teaching them a pleasure. Energy, enthusiasm, and teamwork required. All candidates should have a warm and friendly presence, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the program philosophy and curriculum.

Position Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of all children through constant supervision
Engage in activities to meet the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of the children in the program, based on their individual development
Assist with classroom management
Discuss children's development and communicate with families daily
Deliver small group lessons that introduce early math and literacy concepts
Child assessment
Build children's self-esteem
Comfort children
Encourage independence
Establish routines and provide positive guidance
Participate in staff meetings, community and school activities, and professional development
Assist with copying and preparing materials and centers
File, organize, wash toys, and disinfect surfaces
Replace teacher, when needed
