We're hiring a Preschool Teacher Aide to join our Childcare team and become an active member at Health Solutions. This position is located with the Family Center program at 1591 Taos Road in Pueblo.
What You Would Be Doing
Early Childhood Preschool Teacher Aide are assigned responsibility for a single group of children and to implement and provide a positive learning environment for children to facilitate the mental, physical, social and emotional development of children.
Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, the Preschool Teacher Aide is responsible for:
Actively participating in all scheduled Team meetings and participating in trainings as require.
Assists and participate with planning a comprehensive, multi-cultural curriculum to promote growth and development of children
Assists and participates with Lesson Plans, Anecdotal Notes, Assessment Data and Tracking and Developmental Screenings
Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs, behavior plans and accommodations for children with special needs
Assists with the planning and development of each child's individual goals to enhance school readiness skills
Actively participating in planned parent communication on a regular basis
Knowledgeable and able to carry out emergency preparedness, fire and tornado drills on a regular basis
Maintaining credentials required for position
Provides a developmentally appropriate healthy and safe learning environment for the children
Model and practice developmentally appropriate behavior when working with children, families and staff
Prepare materials for educational activities
Clean and sanitizing toys and equipment
Teach and participate with diapering and/or toileting for children
Participate with mealtimes and tracking daily attendance and meals
Adheres to all health, safety and food handling and sanitation requirements for meal servicing
Flexibility to work with all ages of children from infants to 16 years of age
Responsible for handling emergency situations such as first aid, parent contacts, etc.
Performing other job-related duties assigned by the Director or his/her designee
Provide nurturing and caring to children
Ensure no child is left unsupervised at any time
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Ability to follow all reporting of possible child abuse and neglect as a mandated child abuse reporter
Knowledge of Colorado Childcare Licensing Rules and Regulations
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality standards/boundaries with children/families/staff
Ability to submit a medical statement that is signed and dated by a licensed physician or other health care professional, verifying good mental, physical and emotional health. The medical statement must be dated no more than 6 months prior to employment or within 30 days after the date of employment
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
Ability to sit on the floor, walk, bend, stand, sit

Qualifications
What We Are Looking For-The Must-Haves
Must be at least eighteen years of age
Must have a High school diploma or GED equivalent
Completion of one Early Childhood Education courses with minimum of 1,365 verified experience hours of working with children 4 or more less than 8 years of age and be enrolled in and attending an accredited college taking ECE courses
A current Child Development Associate Credential CDA. If no CDA, applicants can provide proof of sufficient hours worked in an early learning program (preschool age children) and have begun courses in ECE may still be eligible for employment with the expectation of a CDA completion within 2 years of employment; or possess a current Early Childhood Professional Credential Level I or higher;
Demonstrated ability to work with children and adults from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, who are experiencing crisis situations
Knowledgeable regarding behavioral health, physical health, and child serving systems
Excellent communication skills
TB testing required upon hire
Valid Colorado driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation during work hours
What We Would Like To See In You-The Nice-To-Haves
A degree from an accredited college or university with major study in Child Development, Child Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Educational Leadership and Administration, Elementary Education, Family and Human Development, Family Studies or Special Education
A letter of verified experience hours in the care and supervision of four or more children less than eight years of age not related to applicant
Bilingual
Valid CPR and First-Aid Certification
