Preschool Speech and Language Pathologist

Job Qualifications:

• The candidate must hold a valid Indiana state teaching license- Content Area: Communication Disorders

• Master's Degree in Speech and Language

• Certificate of Clinical Competence (preferred)

• Experience supporting students who use Augmentative Communication Devices (preferred)

Job Requirements:

• Conduct evaluations as part of the multidisciplinary evaluation team to determine eligibility as a student with a Speech and/or Language Impairment under Article 7.

• Fulfill all responsibilities as Teacher of Record for students eligible for services because of a Speech and/or Language Impairment.

• Provide speech and language services as outlined in the student's Individualized Education Program.

• Communicate effectively with parents.

• Develop compliant transition IEPs.

• Administer research-based strategies to support student goal attainment.

• Collaborate with school staff

• Knowledge or desire to become proficient with both low-tech and high-tech augmentative communication systems is preferred.

• Develop visual supports for individual students to use within the classroom, and build the capacity of school staff to ensure consistent use of visual supports.
