Preschool and Pre-K Teachers at The Sunshine House spark children's imaginations using the nationally recognized Creative Curriculum that promotes social, physical, and cognitive development. And we have a lot of fun!
Other essential job responsibilities include:
Meeting the physical and emotional needs of each child and providing an atmosphere that makes children and families feel valued.
Implementing The Sunshine House curriculum in a way that meets each child's unique learning style.
Keeping all children in sight at all times and using student transition sheets properly.
Being aware of surroundings and reporting or correcting unsafe conditions.
Keeping rooms neat, clean and organized.
Using only positive child guidance strategies to instruct children.
Presenting a welcoming attitude towards families. Engage them in conversation about their child's education, and the features and benefits of our programs.
Complying with all state licensing and accreditation regulations.
Arriving at work on time, enthusiastic, committed, and professionally prepared every day.
Working with your team to achieve the center's goals.
Remaining aware of accreditation standards and doing your part to achieve or maintain accreditation for your center.
Attending all training, center staff meetings, and other professional development initiatives as required.
Passion for early childhood education!
At least one year of experience teaching in a state-licensed childcare center, daycare or preschool.
CDA or higher degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Spoken and written English fluency.
CPR and 1st Aid Certifications, or willingness to obtain these.
Being able to adapt to continuously changing, fast-paced environment, and make the children's needs the primary focus.
Fully engage in physical activity with children, including kneeling, stooping, squatting, and standing for the majority of the work day, and be able to engage in activities with children like jumping, dancing, walking, and running.
See and hear well enough to monitor classrooms and playgrounds to keep children safe at all times.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
