Qualifications:
with Birth-Kindergarten add-on
OR
North Carolina Professional Educator's License in Birth-Kindergarten with three years of
experience
NC requirements
DHHS Criminal Background check required
CPR and First Aid certification, preferred
Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification, preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Itinerant Preschool Special Education Teacher oversees the education of students with
physical, emotional, mental, and learning disabilities by coordinating and providing direct
instructional programs relating to preschool special education students and their Individual
Education Programs (IEPs). They promote policies and practices that strive to enhance and ensure
optimal outcomes and development of young children with disabilities and their families.
Ability to work in a team environment and effectively collaborate with others.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff,
students, parents, businesses, community agencies, and the public.

Physical and Cognitive Requirements:
The major physical and cognitive requirements listed below are applicable to the Itinerant
Preschool Special Education Teacher's job classification within the Exceptional Children's
Program of Hoke County Schools.
Work in this classification is considered light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 20
pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move
objects.
Must be able to:
