Role Overview

The Facility Manager will report to the Director of PreP Operations and oversees the entire facility's operations, including trucking logistics, machinery maintenance, and front office administration. This position involves managing a diverse team of workers that will operate the sorting equipment, truck loading and unloading with forklifts, operation of balers, and general equipment maintenance. The Facility Manager ensures that the facility meets its operational goals, maintains high safety standards, and optimizes productivity.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee daily operations of the facility, ensuring efficient sorting of plastics and preparation for recycling.

  • Manage trucking logistics for incoming and outgoing materials, working closely with the shipping logistics team to ensure timely delivery and dispatch.

  • Lead a team of maintenance craftspeople to maintain the electronic and mechanical aspects of the sorting and baling machinery.

  • Ensure the facility and its operations comply with all regulatory and environmental standards.

  • Work with the Director of PreP Operations to develop and implement strategies to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency.

  • Work with corporate support functions in the recruitment, training, and management of all site employees, including operational and maintenance leads.

  • Prepare and manage the facility's budget, working towards achieving profitable operations.

  • Report directly to the Director of Prep Operations for PureCycle, providing regular updates on facility performance.

  • Play a key role in the facility's expansion to a 24/7 operation, including planning and executing the scale-up process.

Basic Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in facility management, preferably in a recycling, manufacturing, or continuous operations environment.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent understanding of mechanical and electronic systems used in industrial machinery.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Commitment to environmental sustainability and recycling initiatives.
