New Haven is seeking a prep cook to assist our Cook/Chef with food preparation. Typical work schedule will be Monday-Friday 10: a.m. 1:00 p.m. This is a great position for a parent or student looking for a part time position. This is a very unique opportunity to preparing quality food, create a homey atmosphere, as well as interacting with students and staff.

We are New Haven Residential Treatment Center, driven by COMMITMENT, ACCEPTANCE, SECURITY & ATTUNEMENT. We work with adolescent girls and their families through helping each family member see and understand their role in the process. We provide an environment that is safe, progressive, and nurturing to help facilitate deep healing, exponential growth, and lasting change.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparations of lunch and dinner Monday through Friday for approximately 35 students, teachers and staff.

  • Follows menus prepared by the Dietitian.

  • Assist in ensuring all breakfast food is organized and ready for staff to serve the girls each morning.

  • Aid in food preparation for weekend meals to ensure everything is ready for staff to prepare.

  • This person will have the additional responsibility to assist in the preparation of meals for up to 75 people on Parent Weekends (every 8 weeks), Graduation and other special occasions.

  • Work with the cook/chef on the overall cleanliness, orderliness and safety of the kitchen.

  • Help create a meaningful dining experience for our students.

About You:

  • Experience preparing meals

  • Working knowledge of nutrition

  • Food Handlers permit or ServSafe

  • Knowledge of sanitation

  • Must have the ability to create positive relationships

  • Must be able to pass a Utah State background check

  • Must have own transportation

  • Flexible

  • Organized

  • Friendly

  • Strict adherence to confidentiality and high ethical standards.

  • Applicants must have knowledge of nutrition, health codes and proper sanitation. Must have skills in food preparation and be able to plan and prioritize work. Work days are Monday-Friday

Night Watch position provides the opportunity to monitor and care for the physical and emotional needs of New Haven's students during traditional sleeping hours. Night Watch completes bed checks every 15 minutes. They ensure students are safe. Night Watch assists students who are ill or having difficulties. They must remain alert and awake at all times. Night Watch employees observe and chart student behavior.
