We are looking for talented and experienced Prep Cooks, who are driven, excel in a fast-paced kitchen, and are committed to the highest standards of quality and presentation with a guest first focus. A sense of urgency, attention to detail and commitment to quality are required! This is a full-time benefited position. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, ESOP, and paid vacation. Hours are 3pm-11pm

The right person will be outgoing, positive and team oriented. Candidates will need to have excellent communication skills, have prep cooking experience and thrive in challenging environments.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Correctly prepares all food served following standard recipes

  • Stores food properly and safely, marking the date and items

  • Follows proper food preparation and handling techniques

  • Apportions food for serving

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment

  • Following all SOP's in the preparation of all menu items

  • Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards

  • Leading by example and being a great "Brand Ambassador" at all times

Requirements of the position:

  • 2+ years prep cooking experience, preferably in a fast-paced kitchen

  • Knife skills

  • Scratch cooking

  • Be positive and team oriented

  • Strong work ethic

  • Has a professional attitude and appearance

  • Strong organizational and high-level communication skills

  • Continuously seeks out opportunities to grow and learn

Summary of Essential Job Functions: * Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers. * Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to over-prepare estimated needs. * Date all food containers and rotate as per PM Hotel Group standards, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures. * Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set-up. Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages. Assist in keeping buffet stocked, if applicable. * Return all food items not used on next shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover and date all perishables. * Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems, and control food waste, loss and usage per PM Hotel Group standards. * Operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill. * Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. * Perform any other job-related duties as assigned. Abilities Required: Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Finger/hand dexterity in order to operate food machinery. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 100 lbs. on a continuous schedule. Customer Satisfaction: Our customers are what we are about.
