Overview

The position reports to the AVP Premium Audit. This individual will be responsible for handling smaller, less complicated premium audits to start and then tackling larger, more complicated premium audits as the premium audit skills develop. A successful candidate will have 2-3 years of premium audit experience. The candidate will also have a desire to learn about the Arch specific business units and intricacies of these policies and the related exposures. The individual will be trained on how to read and interpret the coverages (Workers Compensation, General Liability, and Commercial Auto).

Responsibilities

  • Arranging premium audit appointments with brokers and/or insureds.

  • Reading policies to determine exposure basis for each policy.

  • Communicating needed documentation for each audit and securing that documentation from the broker/insured.

  • Actively working in the NEXUS premium audit system to pick up and complete assigned audits.

  • Perform examination of policyholders' payroll, accounting and financial records to insure accurate calculation of earned premium for customers. Analyzes existing data, ISO rules, industry and statutory materials, and claims.

  • Insure that audited exposures (payroll, sales, cost, etc.) are accurately calculated within insurance manual guidelines.

  • Responsible for handling all disputes related to audits that the auditor completed.

  • Collaborate with underwriting personnel, agents and producers to answer questions about the audit process or results.

  • Assist with NEXUS system enhancements as needed.

  • Perform other premium audit related duties as required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Concentration in Accounting, Finance or a related field is necessary.

  • 2-3 years of premium auditing experience at either an insurance carrier or a premium audit vendor.

  • Minimum of 2 years prior premium audit experience;

  • Collaborative and team oriented;

  • Customer focused with attention to detail;

  • Self directed showing personal accountability and a sense of urgency;

  • Strong communication and organizational skills;

VIEW JOBS 11/10/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-08T00:00 What is the opportunity? * Key support for drafting, editing, finalization, and governance of the annual Capital Plan. * Execute critical capital stress testing frameworks across functional areas * Support for the buildout, coordination, and maintenance for CCAR supporting documentation. * Assist with preparing materials summarizing capital planning processes and results for senior management and the Board of Directors * Create tailored analysis on a variety of capital planning topics to facilitate decision-making by senior management. What will you do? * Key support in the preparation of the Capital Plan, including primary development of assigned chapters, partnering with appropriate subject matter experts on core elements of the CCAR exercise (40%): * Overall narrative; * Risk identification; * Internal scenario design process; * Financial forecasting results across baseline and stress scenarios; * Capital Policy/Adequacy/Actions; * Material business plan changes; * Assumptions, Limitations, and Weaknesses; * Governance framework; and * Summary of audit findings. * Drive performance of key firm-wide processes required in capital stress testing, including (25%): * Assessment and management of assumptions underlying projection methodologies; * Driving enhancement and execution of sensitivity analysis on projection results from adjustments in key inputs; * Designing framework for review and challenge and facilitating sessions during CCAR exercises. * Support for the buildout, coordination, and maintenance of CCAR supporting documentation, including (20%): * Supporting implementing of program-wide documentation standards to ensure a consistent and comprehensive approach; * Performing quality assurance of CCAR supporting documentation for accuracy, comprehensive coverage, and consistency across the firm; * Communicating feedback to relevant supporting documentation owners; and * Performing ad hoc tasks, as needed, in support of the CCAR submission. * Create tailored analyses for senior management (partnering with risk, finance and treasury) on capital planning including calibration of actions, stress test summaries, and peer bank comparisons, where appropriate (10%). * Review supervisory guidance and regulatory/industry updates to identify capital stress testing requirements, best practices, and trends (5%). What do you need to succeed? Must-have * Bachelor's degree (Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar major preferred). * 7-10 years' experience either in risk management, capital management, finance, or project management at a financial institution, working for a regulatory agency, or as an auditor or consultant for banking clients. * Writing and analytical capabilities commensurate with independent production of management-ready documentation work products. * Detail-oriented and able to facilitate development of firm-wide frameworks for capital planning. * Strong abilities in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Other Required Qualifications: * Broad understanding of Capital Markets, Retail Banking, and Wealth Management. * Strong consultative skills desired / preferred, inclusive of presentation, facilitation, structured thinking and project management experience. * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across multiple functions. * Operationally savvy, action-oriented individual who continually strives for improvement. * Independent thinker with ability to deliver results with minimal oversight. Nice-to-have * Understanding of Dodd-Frank and its impact on a foreign banking organization. * Knowledge of US Basel III. * CCAR experience and/or well-rounded knowledge of regulatory exercises within financial institutions.
