The Premium Audit Specialist works within the newly centralized Premium Audit function and will be responsible for ensuring that Argo receives the fullest extent of available audit premium across eligible lines of business. The Premium Audit Specialist will work with our vendor partners to ensure the accurate and timely completion of premium audits. This role will also review and resolve audit disputes, ensuring that key stakeholders are engaged and informed as needed. This role will also act as a subject matter expert in helping to develop and grow the premium audit function and providing guidance and support to the audit processing team. The individual must possess the ability to read and interpret coverages for one or more of the following: General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Workers' Compensation, lines of business. The role will work hybrid (no less than three days per week on-site) at either our Chicago, New York City, San Antonio, TX office.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Partner with Underwriting, Onshore Operations, and Offshore Teams to help manage the Premium Audit process lifecycle.

  • Handle audit dispute resolutions independently, and in collaboration with the business and other support functions in a timely manner.

  • Ensure audit results are communicated to customers and partners in a professional, timely, and accurate manner.

  • Ensure that premium audits and related endorsements are produced, booked, and invoiced timely and accurately.

  • Work with Accounting to ensure timely collection of audit premiums.

  • Provide feedback to leadership regarding trends and training opportunities identified through premium audit reviews.

  • Keep up with ISO and PAAS bulletins and other industry developments impacting premium audit.

  • Maintain compliance of Argo's premium audit practices with state and other regulatory agencies and Argo underwriting guidelines.

  • Examine policyholder records to establish the actual exposure basis.

  • Verify risk classification and class codes of policyholder operations.

  • Respond to underwriter, insured and agency partner requests and questions regarding premium audits.

  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed.

What We Need:

  • High School Diploma or GED with equivalent industry experience.

  • 3 Years of premium audit experience.

  • Experience in managing a vendor and/or the setting and maintaining of operational Service Levels.

  • Experience within Construction General Liability insurance.

  • Knowledge of insurance premium audit best practices across Commercial E&S and Specialty Insurance lines and specifically, General Liability.

  • Knowledge of classification guidelines across Commercial E&S and Specialty Insurance lines and specifically general Liability.

  • Knowledge of accounting and financial documentation as relates to premium justification.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal stakeholders and external customers and other third parties.

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively with little supervision.

  • Highly collaborative and enjoys working as part of a team.

  • Completion of one or more of PAAS, ISO and/or NCCI professional development programs, preferred.
