PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The purpose of this job is to perform routine premium accounting and clerical activities. This position exists to assist the accounting department with account activities while providing excellent customer service in line with Company standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs routine premium accounting functions.
Handles all incoming mail and distribution of e-mail, fax and hard copy correspondence
Scans and saves documentation in network drives
Reviews and processes internal office e-mails regarding action to be taken on policies
Assists Premium Accounting Representatives with administrative and accounting tasks.
Provides accounting services to customers.
Handles communication to insureds, agents, and underwriters in regards to payments and policy status.
Provides service to customers regarding types of payments and reconciles accounts
Provides service to brokers and sales personnel regarding commissions.
Prepares reports and resolves discrepancies.
Verifies contracts, policy information, and account status.
Assists in reconciling account discrepancies.
Prepares various reports as requested.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge of basic math and accounting concepts is required. Working knowledge and skills of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word preferred. Ability to understand and carry out simple instructions in standard situations. Must be Customer service oriented with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to effectively present information to policyholders, agents, and internal parties.
Office environment - no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands and employees are regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, and hear.
