Prek Lead Teacher

FOR 2024/2025 SCHOOL YEAR

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / Duties include but are not limited to:

• Teaching children about core concepts, such as numbers, letters, shapes, and colors.

• Using creative, hands-on methods of learning, such as artistic expression, free play, and storytelling.

• Planning a curriculum that addresses early childhood education requirements.

• Supervise Pre-K aide who will help with encouraging and monitoring social interactions between children.

• Creates a classroom culture that instills a sense of respect and discipline, so that children work effectively in a classroom setting.

• Supervising children outside of class time, such as during lunch and on the playground.

• Making sure that the classroom is clean, safe, and well-organized.

• Develops daily and long-range lesson and activity planning.

• Organizes learning exercises with small groups of children with the assistance of a full-time aide.

• Performs other related work as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Classroom management & good working with children

• Good communication skills

• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, students, parents, general public and others having business with the school

SUPERVISOR: Principal

Salary: $30K-$59K

Requirements

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Missouri Teacher's Certificate

• Must be able to pass an initial fingerprint and background clearance check

• May be required to lift supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds.

• May be required to work outside normal working hours for school related programming.

ABOUT OUR SCHOOL: We are a domestic, Christian missional school: a private, urban, Christian, elementary school (Pre-Kindergarten - 8th Grade). Teacher/Student Ratio is 1:15. Adult/Student Ratio in Pre-Kindergarten is 1:10.
