The PHRN will be work closely with the Executive Director of Ambulance Services and Special Care Unit Liaison SCUL to assure coordinated efforts and efficient operation for critical care transport unit or SCTU. PHRN is also responsible for accurate and timely report filing along with developing treatment and operations protocols to meet New Jersey Department of Health regulations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.
Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
Demonstrates/models the Network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).

Maintains confidentiality of all material handled within the hospital as well as the proper release of information.
Responding to emergency and non-emergency calls calmly, efficiently and promptly;
Administering basic and advanced life support to patients at the scene, en route to the hospital and in a pre-hospital setting in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations and standards; Assessing the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed;
Extricating victims of accidents, sudden illness or entrapment using proper rescue and medical techniques;
Treating patients at the scene, en route to the hospital, and in a pre-hospital setting in accordance with federal, state, local, laws, regulations and standards and in accordance with St. Luke's University Health Network and St. Luke's Emergency & Transport Services policies rules, and guidelines;
Effectively communicating with professional medical personnel and treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and/ or to arrange reception of patients to the appropriate center;
Maintaining order at scenes, including crowd disbursement and restraint of family and friends; Completing patient care forms, insurance forms, evaluation forms, and all other forms in a competent and timely fashion.
Adhere to and follow all policies and procedures concerning safety and contamination by blood borne pathogens; and Educate and/ train squad personnel, EMS trainees and the public
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting 8 hours per day; 3 hours at a time. Stand up to 1 hour per day; 30 minutes at a time. Walk up to 2 hours per day; 20 minutes at a time. Continuously fingering and handling for data entry, typing, etc. and occasional twisting and turning. Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. Occasionally carry up to 15 lbs. Frequently stoops, bends, or reaches above shoulder level to retrieve files. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color, peripheral vision and vision monotony.
High School Graduate. Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey Nursing license(s) PHRN shall be a registered nurse with at least one year of critical care experience and who has demonstrated by education or experience the ability to manage health care organizations. Pa. Pre-hospital Registered Nurse (PHRN) and or New Jersey EMT certification is preferred
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Documented completion of competencies for ALS equipment, including, but not limited to:
i. Cardiac monitor/defibrillator;
ii. External pacemaker;
iii. IV pump;
v. Intra-aortic balloon pump;
vi. Specialized respirators;
BCLS ACLS PALS Haz-mat operations level Experience in computer operations. Previous experience in health care/ambulance billing; radio communication skills; office skills including typing, filing, bookkeeping. Excellent organizational skills; pleasant telephone manner. Ability to perform job with a minimum of direct supervision.
