The CNN Creative Marketing "Preditor" (Producer/Editor) is responsible for producing and editing assigned on-air or social/digital promotions for the CNN network brand.This person will work with senior management to determine the full scope of creative, content, production, editing and cost/benefit decisions for assigned promotions or campaigns. They may also implement assigned projects independently with regular guidance from senior staff.
The Preditor participates in marketing strategy; ideating shoots and projects for air, digital, social, interactive installations, etc. They also participate in assembling production teams and resources as needed with the support of CNN Creative Marketing's internal production team. They will also be responsible for media management, ingesting assets, and the responsible handling of confidential CNN program material.
In-depth knowledge/understanding of the role of journalism, current events and key players in the news and media landscape.
May create on-air or digital promotions that maximize appeal of programming to viewers.
May manage and is accountable for specific project budgets.
May work with company partners in public relations and sales to maximize awareness and revenue potential of CNN programs.
May work with operations to ensure required delivery.
May inform and guide key art, print, billboard, banner ads, real world events and properties across all platforms and for other departments.
Attend shoots as needed.
Participate in meetings to effectively improve workflow and process (from new technological implementations, to ways to timely and effectively deliver spots from LA to Atlanta, etc.)
Take creative risks with each project (strengthen writing skills and ability to concept with each project).
Be conscious of role of, and effectively integrate sound design and graphics.
Be an on-the-spot problem solver.
Extensive knowledge of various edit systems, while working specifically in Adobe Premiere Pro/After Effects.
Assist on new and innovative projects and initiatives.
Proficiency/Expert level in Adobe Premiere Pro CC/After Effects, with a working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
3 years minimum experience in the editor/producer capacity for an affiliate, network or agency, with 5-7 years of experience preferred
College degree or equivalent art school/technical/trade school certification
