Preconstruction Services Manager

Harmon, Inc. is seeking a Preconstruction Service Manager for its Round Rock, Texas location.

Job Duties: The Preconstruction Service Manager leads the preconstruction sales efforts for Harmon, Inc. They leverage critical thinking, analytical abilities and business acumen in this hands-on role to deliver sales at acceptable levels of profitability.

The Preconstruction Service Manager drives business development activities within their market region, and manages the bid procurement process by ensuring clarity and alignment across all functional departments, including: finance, estimating, engineering, manufacturing, operations, and management. The Preconstruction Service Manager executes budgets, bid estimates and sales proposals, and tracks and updates management on sales opportunities regularly.

Key responsibilities of the Preconstruction Service Manager include: Financial Planning: achieve target revenue to meet local and national financial commitments; and update job tracker with projected revenue cash flows.

Resource Planning: develop project resource plan; maintain project resource plan; and maintain current schedule information. Key Relationships: develop relationships with a select group of core general contractor customers; develop relationships with a select group of owners, architects and consultants; and manage regional business development. Pursuing Project Awards: be globally responsible for all preconstruction activities; completely understand and validate the bid execution plan and sales strategy; communicate up and down stream; maintain ownership of bid collaborative process; comply with all estimate recap protocols; and maintain ownership of client presentations.

Contract Review: manage contract scope; and communicate Harmon's legal position. Communication and Collaboration: maintain regional vendor contact list; report and update management; and coordinate regional marketing. Professional Development: keep up to date with current façade trends.

This position requires limited domestic travel to client sites.

Requirements: Requires a Master's degree in Construction Management or a related field plus 2 years of experience as a Preconstruction Service Manager or related.

Will accept a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field plus 5 years of experience as a Preconstruction Service Manager or related in lieu of a Master's degree plus 2 years of experience. Must have 2 years of experience with Master's or 5 years of experience with Bachelor's with: structural, technical and operational commercial construction experience in the curtain wall or glazing industry; project management, engineering or sales with a curtain wall subcontractor or manufacturer; managing estimation and preconstruction projects, including revenue and resource projections; developing and furnishing estimation, accounting and project management processes; executing preconstruction budgets, bid estimates and sales proposals; solving design, budget and constructability problems for complete project design cycle; preparing RFP responses for various delivery methods (DB, GCCM, or IPD) and contract types (GMP or Negotiated). This position requires limited domestic travel to client sites.
