Stevens is currently seeking a Preconstruction

  • Buyout Specialist, a key position that requires organizational and interpersonal skills to work with many entities to efficiently and accurately manage the Preconstruction/Estimating process. The successful Preconstruction

  • Buyout Specialist will review various Architectural Drawings and Specifications in order to provide leadership to our Estimating, Purchases, and Account Management Teams during the bidding portion of our construction process from initial project conception through successful bid completion.

Communication with multiple departments, providing quantity take-offs, and the ability to negotiate with various subcontractors, material suppliers, installation subcontractors and customers is critical. The successful Preconstruction

  • Buyout Specialist will be able to effectively manage a multitude of bidding projects, and be a problem solver in any situation.

Specialty Material Subject Expert

  • Manage and lead the buyout process requirements for specialty items.

  • Ability to prepare bids, requests for quotes, and proposals in compliance with Stevens Industries business policies and procedures.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with material suppliers and installation subcontractors.

  • Ensure compliance to company guidelines during supplier quote analyzes and pricing negotiations.

  • Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant internal departments for specialty material requirements

  • Validate, reconcile, and process supplier quotations for various materials.

Preparation of Successful Bids

  • Work with Stevens' Direct and Stevens' Dealer Partner sales forces to understand the scope and specifications of potential projects.

  • Scope architectural drawings and specifications for application of Stevens's products.

  • Manage the estimating team to achieve to complete accurate and timely bids.

  • Consult with estimators on special requirements and custom options.

  • Review quotations for value added/value engineered solutions and assignment of applicable margins.

  • Oversee the Stevens Bidding Schedule and provide guidance on project bid activity/priority

  • Consistently network with Stevens' Direct Personnel, Stevens' Dealers, General Contractors, Architectural Firms and Direct Customers to uncover new opportunities.

  • Be the voice of the customer, the Dealer Sales Manager will be skilled in garnering internal support for Stevens Dealer Customers and fulfilling their needs through exceptional communication skills.

  • Enhances the Casework and Millwork Sales Department and organizational reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring ideas and opportunities to add value to the organization.

Requirements

1.Bachelor or Associates or 1-3 years BOM or planning degree preferred.

2.Proficiency in MS Excel, BlueBeam, and some AutoCad.

3.Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills with an ability to recognize and interpret patterns to implement continuous improvement measures.

4.Track changes while moving on to the next project.

5.Ability to understand manufacturing and quality processes relating to BOM's and the Color Code Master.

6.Excellent interpersonal, leadership, verbal, and written communication skills required. Will need to communicate and present new ideas and follow up with additional meetings

7.Ability to learn AutoCad for interpretation of custom counter tops, route lines and layers for machine programming.

8.Evaluate 3D and 2D drawings for accuracy in allocation and machining.
