Job Summary

The Pre-College Advisor provides support and guidance to non-traditional prospective students, as well as newly admitted students by facilitating their enrollment and ensuring these students have the best opportunity to achieve their educational goals while assisting them with the process from admission through matriculation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides pre-admissions advisement to prospective and new students, serving predominantly non-traditional students

  • Serves as the advisor for students and point of contact for all their processes

  • Provides admissions, financial aid, assessment and program information to prospective and new students

  • Uses caseload management technologies to communicate and provide proactive advising to prospective and new students

  • Ensures students are in compliance by meeting the College and Federal Government regulation

  • Assists with the development and execution of recruitment strategies targeting non-traditional students

  • Assists students with clarifying their career pathway and selecting a program of study

  • Provides support in retention and recruitment efforts with an emphasis on adult learners

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience

  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution

  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, policies and procedures and programs

  • Knowledge of academic advising and career development principles and practices, residency and financial aid regulations

  • Experience advising students in higher education setting

  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently while taking initiative to create opportunities for recruitment and advising

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to work effectively with a wide range of constituents and to provide high quality support and customer service constituencies in a diverse community

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

  • Knowledge of Microsoft office software and specific computer programs related to area of responsibility

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments

  • Ability to interact in a positive manner in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff

Experience: * Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience. Education: * Graduation from a qualifying Cardiovascular program, RRT or Registered Radiological Technologist program is required.
