he Precision Assembler will disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble mechanical seals during the repair process. These seals are used in industrial settings, such as refineries and factories. This is a second shift position, 2:15pm to 10:45pm, Mon Fri.
Use product knowledge of mechanical seals and components to disassemble, clean, and reassemble products as part of the repair process.
Correctly and safely use hand tools to repair and assemble seals.
Accurately read prints and pick parts to complete assembly.
Verify quality of finished work with precision measurement tools.
Read assembly prints and directions, and interpret data from optical flatness reports.
Enter data as needed to track process steps, parts, materials, and time.
Adhere to all safety procedures, including wearing personal safety equipment.
Communicate clearly to peers and supervisors about jobs and issues.
Focus on improvement by participating in continuous improvement team activities.
2+ years general mechanical experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment. Vocational training acceptable in lieu of experience. Additional experience highly valued.
Familiarity with blueprints and shop drawings.
Able to use various hand and machine tools, as well as measurement tools.
Basic understanding of inspection equipment, including micrometers and precision measurement tools
Able to work overtime and weekends as required on short notice. Demonstrated track record of reliable, dependable work ethic
Forklift certification desirable, but not required.
Must have effective reading and listening skills to understand work instructions, safety procedures, and company policies. Must be able to clearly report and explain information to others.
Must show a customer-service mindset at all times.
Have a basic computer aptitude to learn data entry systems, and to use Microsoft Word and Outlook
A personal commitment to quality workmanship.
Be able to stand for long periods of time, and frequently lift seals up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lift or push large, heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.). Must have a full range of hand and upper-body motion in order to work with tools and parts.
