Overview
The Preceptor/Instructor will provide curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluations and counseling to student radiographers as well as in the clinical setting when assigned.
Responsibilities
Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA); knowledge of JRCERT and educational policies, procedures, and practices; ability to plan, organize and implement multiple tasks effectively. Is competent in the implementation and use of the clinical competency tracking system and clinical compliance tracking system. Maintains current knowledge of the JRCERT Standards and upholds the Standards for the Program. Maintains current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development. Prepares and maintains course outlines, objectives and instructional materials as is mandated when ASRT, ARRT, ALDE and resource material (i.e. textbooks) changes or are revised. Deliver curriculum as intended by the Program catalog and approved syllabi on schedule, meeting all stated objectives and timelines. Develops curriculum based upon the JRCERT and ARRT requirements for the Program. Maintains program effectiveness and monitors outcomes. Annually evaluates ARRT directed competency requirements and updates the master education plan for the radiography program. Prepares and maintains course outlines and objectives, instructs and evaluates students and reports progress. Cooperates with the program director in periodic review and revision of course materials. Provides instruction, evaluates the performance and provides counseling of student radiographers. Grades and returns student assignments and tests in a timely manner. Completes and turns in all end-of-quarter grades and paperwork at the completion of the course. Supports the Program Director and Program to assure effective program outcomes. Participates and contributes to the accreditation/assessment process quarterly. Supervises student radiographers in clinical setting. Has knowledge of PACS system. Correlates education with didactic education. Coordinates education and evaluates its effectiveness. Understands and practices all AIDET principles. Uses I Care principles to ensure proper patient identification, correct exam, and to improve patient communication and engagement. While in the clinical setting, provides care and safety to patients undergoing exams.

Performs compliance requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Fulfills education requirements for assigned position including DCH Health System and Imaging required CBT's, in-services, meetings and educational sessions, recruitment/educational activities.

Qualifications
Current registration by the ARRT in radiography or other comparable registry. Bachelors' degree is preferred with two years' full-time radiology experience and a minimum of one-year experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited program. Must be efficient in the use of imaging equipment in the area of expertise, office equipment and related material essential to good patient care, imaging exams and Synapse. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
