Blessed Sacrament Catholic School is seeking a full-time Pre-Kindergarten Instructional Assistant for the 2024/2025 school year. Rooted in the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church. Blessed Sacrament, in collaboration with PK4SA, is committed to strengthening our school's early childhood program. As a grant school, the HighScope Curriculum is used which promotes teacher-student interaction, the classroom learning environment, student daily routine, and authentic assessment. The Instructional Assistant will receive professional development training to ensure the HighScope Curriculum is being implemented with fidelity.

The Pre-Kindergarten Instructional Assistant reports to the Principal. The school's Pre-Kindergarten Teacher and Primary Level Coordinator assist the Principal in certain aspects of campus responsibilities.
The Instructional Assistant fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by assisting the classroom teacher in planning, guiding, and educating students in a loving, Christ-centered environment. The Instructional Assistant assists the classroom teacher in evaluating the learning process of the students in the Catholic school for whom the teacher is responsible within the framework of the school's philosophy, organization, and curriculum. The Instructional Assistant helps the teacher prepare instructional materials, assists students, and supports learning activities that have been defined by the teacher.

Supports and adheres to the policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese of San Antonio, including the Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees

Communicates effectively with students, parents, and other professionals

Monitors and assists individual students in small instructional groups to support learning activities
Supervises students at lunch, recess, and in routine movement
Performs clerical tasks, prepares instructional materials and bulletin boards as indicated by the classroom teacher
Meets staff development guidelines as set forth by the school administration and Archdiocese of San Antonio
Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability to the school, students and staff

Other Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience supervising children preferred
Instructional Assistant Certification (Blessed Sacrament will provide funding for this Certification)
Preferred knowledge of HighScope Curriculum
Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred as Spanish is taught daily
