DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily attendance and punctuality are required for ensuring that program goals are met

  • Assists pre-kindergarten students individually or in groups with lesson assignments for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts

  • Implements, under the supervision of the teacher, the instructional program and lesson plans

  • Monitors individual students, classroom, library, playground activities, etc. to ensure a safe and positive learning environment

  • Learns and maintains knowledge of policies

  • Performs routine record keeping and reports and clerical functions

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive data and information pertaining to individual students and/or overall program

  • Assume reasonable job-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor in order to meet the needs of the school

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Time management skills

  • Ability to follow oral and written instruction; reading

  • Ability to work independently with or without supervision

  • Ability to discern stages of child development/age appropriate activities

  • Knowledge of safety rules in the work place

  • Ability and willing to work with a significant diversity of individuals and perform effectively as a team member

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an "as needed" basis

  • Walk and stand 80% of work shift

  • Stoop, bend, twist, turn, and reach on a regular basis

  • Adequate strength, dexterity, and agility to perform all tasks assigned
