DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily attendance and punctuality are required for ensuring that program goals are met
Assists pre-kindergarten students individually or in groups with lesson assignments for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts
Implements, under the supervision of the teacher, the instructional program and lesson plans
Monitors individual students, classroom, library, playground activities, etc. to ensure a safe and positive learning environment
Learns and maintains knowledge of policies
Performs routine record keeping and reports and clerical functions
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive data and information pertaining to individual students and/or overall program
Assume reasonable job-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor in order to meet the needs of the school
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Time management skills
Ability to follow oral and written instruction; reading
Ability to work independently with or without supervision
Ability to discern stages of child development/age appropriate activities
Knowledge of safety rules in the work place
Ability and willing to work with a significant diversity of individuals and perform effectively as a team member
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an "as needed" basis
Walk and stand 80% of work shift
Stoop, bend, twist, turn, and reach on a regular basis
Adequate strength, dexterity, and agility to perform all tasks assigned
