Department Information

The Center for Mental Health Care & Resources educates students for life by providing a variety of services and programs that are consistent and consonant with the strategic plan goals of the Institution and of Student Engagement & Well-Being. Services include testing and assessment, referral to support services, short-term individual counseling, group counseling, couples counseling, crisis intervention, as well as mental health workshops, and consultation for faculty and staff, family and friends of Tech students.

Job Summary

Provide full-time service to Georgia Tech students in the form of individual and group counseling through the Counseling Center. Provide face-to-face counseling for students in addition to outreach and emergency coverage for mental health needs of the campus.

Provide psychological assessment for students.This position will interact on a consistent basis with: staff psychologists, students, faculty, and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: students. This position will supervise: NA

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Individual and group counseling, couples counseling, and emergency coverage for the Counseling Center

Job Duty 2 -

Provide training and supervision for graduate trainees

Job Duty 3 -

After hour crisis management and emergency coverage

Job Duty 4 -

Campus outreach and consultation

Job Duty 5 -

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Doctoral coursework and qualifying examination passed

Applicants for this job are typically in their final year of graduate training for the Ph.D. in psychology

Five hundred hours of face-to-face contact in psychological treatment

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Training in psychological assessment and therapy.

Knowledge of psychological theory and therapeutic interventions for the treatment of mental health concerns
