Practicum Student - Day Treatment Program Therapist

As an Intern/Practicum Student at our Day Treatment Programs, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the lives of children and their families through our successful mental health programs. You will be part of a caring and highly regarded staff of therapists at Hopkins Adolescent Day Treatment site.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Provide group, individual, and family therapy under the direction of the task supervisor and document all therapy sessions in case notes daily.

• Create and update intake summaries, diagnostic assessments, and discharge plans in conjunction with task supervisor.

• Develop psycho-education curriculum under the direction of the task supervisor.

• Coordinate, participate in, and facilitate/co-facilitate milieu, skills, and therapy groups.

• Develop timely treatment plans in conjunction with the task supervisor; review with and get input from the client and family, and obtain signatures.

• Supervise youth during lunch, skills groups, and passing periods to maintain relationship building.

• Creatively plan, attend and supervise activities, field trips, and outings.

• Promote relationship and problem-solving skills in client population.

• Prepare for and participate in clinical supervision weekly.

• Prepare for and participate in clinical consultation, staff meetings, and other business related meetings as needed/required for the program.

• Follow and enforce all policies and procedures of the agency.

• Maintain confidentiality of clients and client records.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Active participation in Master's program for psychology, social work, family therapy or related field- Clinical-Level ONLY

• Completion of Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, family therapy or related field.

• Ability to work with adolescents and families.

• Open to working with multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary teams.

• Commitment to minimum of nine months and at least 24 hours weekly for internship.

• Ability to facilitate active skills and experiential learning.

• Lift up to 25 lbs, extended periods of sitting, moderate physical activity.
