Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Monitors patient flow in waiting room and resolves patient flow issues related to registration and post-visit processing

  • Provides set-up of examination room and instruments in accordance with proper techniques established by hospital and infection control policies.

  • Takes and monitors vital signs, including fetal heart rate if necessary

  • Performs phlebotomy, point of care testing, and other procedures as indicated by physician order, including but not limited to electrocardiogram

  • Inventories, orders or re-stocks medical supplies; monitors expiration dates on all medications and medical supplies disposing appropriately as per institution policy

  • Maintains logging system as required for refrigeration of medications, point of care testing, sterilization process, or others as needed

  • Performs routine maintenance/cleaning of equipment and instruments; Notifies appropriate personnel regarding any malfunction in equipment

  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complies with legal regulations

  • Complies with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infections body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation and other hazardous substances

  • Acts rapidly and calmly during emergencies, initiates CPR and provides the necessary items called for by the team

  • Transports patients and equipment as needed

  • Performs any and all duties involving direct patient care as assigned by the RN/LPN/PA/MD within the framework of the New York State Nurse Practice Act and MSHS Policy and Procedures

  • Documents in medical record / electronic medical record as required by hospital policy

  • Greets and registers patients, prepares and processes appropriate forms, directs patients to appropriate areas and arranges transportation needs

  • Screens incoming calls, takes and responds to messages, as well as responds to inquiries regarding department procedures, services and programs.

  • Schedules appointments and completes pre-registration via telephone including insurance verification and full patient demographics collection over the telephone or in person using computerized system(s) with accountability for the integrity of the data, including all patient demographics and insurance information

  • Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned using the electronic medical record (EMR) system or manually as necessary, to include: sending and receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/x-ray reports, discharge summaries, referral information, etc.

  • Completes forms and requisitions as needed, managing charts to ensure information is completed and filed appropriately. Assists in the creation and maintenance of medical charts.

  • Retrieves lab, pathology and diagnostic testing, and operative reports and data from computer systems

  • Checks, verifies and updates insurance information utilizing internal or electronic sources.

  • Obtains and documents managed care referrals, required pre-certifications and authorizations as necessary

  • Supports surgical or procedure scheduling or other similar role(s) verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admissions and consent forms


  • High School Diploma. Certificate/Course(s), 1-2 years current experience as a Medical Assistant preferred,

  • Medical Assistant Certificate, EKG and Phlebotomy skill

  • Intermediate Computer skills required ( Word and Excel)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients and families, Maintains confidentiality and professional work environment.

CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Traffic & ITS Business Practice Leader to join our Transportation group in the Duluth, GA; Atlanta, GA; Raleigh, NC; Charlotte, NC; Richmond, VA; Albany, NY; New York, NY; Boston, MA; or Norwell, MA office. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Oversight of pulse and morale of the Business Practice - This individual is expected to lead an inspired organization. As such, he/she needs to be well in-tune to the pulse, morale, and engagement of the employees within his/her Business Practice as well as attracting and retaining talent. This individual will work closely with the Sector Leadership, Business Line Leaders and Human Resources to address areas of improvement. * Growth and branding of Business Practice - This person is responsible for growing their Business Practice with the ultimate objective of being a recognized industry leader. This will be accomplished by developing and executing a well-thought-out strategy with associated action plan. The Business Practice Leader will work collaboratively with the Business Line Leader, Market Leaders and the Marketing Group to develop and execute the growth and branding plan. * Oversight of respective Business Practices - This individual is responsible for ensuring the execution of work through the delivery of high-quality projects and services. * Oversight of Business Practice targets - He/she will work in conjunction with Sector and Business Line leadership to develop aggressive yet attainable operational and financial targets. This individual will be responsible for working with Market Leadership to formulate comprehensive strategies to achieve these targets. * Prepare annual budget and manage the Business Practices financial performance. This individual will work closely with the Sector and Business Line leadership team on establishing a budget, and actively managing performance relative to that budget, identifying and proactively addressing opportunities and risks to the business. * Oversees project management within the Business Practice - He/she will ensure the Project Managers within the Business Practice ensure consistency in procedures based on the corporate project management standards. This individual will also focus on working with the Business Line Leader to significantly improve their profitability and project performance (PFs) through effective project management strategies. * Involved in technical aspects of project execution - The Business Practice Leader will be responsible for ensuring that the proper processes are established and executed in the respective business practices. The Business Practice Leaders will be involved in the technical direction of projects by providing guidance on design principles and project approach. * Oversee staffing levels within the Business Practice - This individual will work closely with the Sector President, Sector Finance Manager and Business Line Leaders for assessing backlog to determine the appropriate staffing levels and to have effective execution of project work and optimal utilization. * Collaboration and Coordination across Business Practices and markets - this role will be an advocate for collaboration and coordination across all Business Practices (regardless of Line or Sector) and Markets, set an example for communication and cooperation across these groups, with the primary objective being the success of CHA overall. * Communicate regularly with employees - This individual will be responsible for delivering timely information and messages to his/her leadership team and to all staff, when appropriate, in the most effective methods. In addition, he/she will find the best ways to keep his/her employees regularly informed about major project wins, financial performance, staff recognition, etc. * Lead new business bookings and supports business development and proposal efforts - This individual will ensure the Business Practice meets the new business generation target by supporting bid and proposal work as it relates to existing and potential new clients or projects, including proposal support, interviews, development and negotiation of appropriate project budgets and the associated scope of work. * This individual will work closely with the Marketing/Communication team on all efforts to best position/brand the Business Practice services and technical expertise, such that is viewed as a trusted advisor and consultant of choice in the marketplace. EDUCATION AND LICENSURE * Bachelor's Degree in engineering, planning, engineering management or a related degree is required. Master's Degree preferred. * Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience is required. SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS * Professional technical licensure is required (i.e. Engineering, Planning, Project Management, etc.) or equivalent professional experience. * Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification preferred. * Experience in aspects of traffic planning and design projects including traffic forecasting, intersection and corridor operational analyses, traffic impact studies, traffic signal design, timing and operational evaluation/ recommendations, and signing and pavement marking design. * Experience in ITS design, including fiber/wireless communications and devices is preferred. * Strategic thinker to properly position the group for strong growth and financial performance. * Strong understanding and knowledge of his/her Business Practice as well as the adaptability for future services to be offered. * Demonstrated financial management skills and understanding of the P&L. * An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and in front of large groups. * A high energy, results-oriented, resourceful leader who is capable of establishing himself/herself as a credible strategic member of management within the company. * Technically astute and strategic in thinking to properly position the Business Practice for strong technical and financial performance and client satisfaction. * Strong written and verbal communication skills and understanding of his/her Business Practice. * Strong ability to resolve matters timely and lead initiatives/projects to completion with a sense of urgency. * Ability to inspire, motivate, build and manage relationships across the company, and influence decisions from the top down and bottom up. * Trustworthy with the ability to handle confidential matters and sensitive information or situations with discretion. * Ability to travel as needed. * Knowledge of Deltek Vision preferred.
