Prestigious 145-attorney firm headquartered in Charlotte needs experienced Practice Support Specialist in our Charlotte office for a full-time position (37.5 hour week). The function of the Practice Support group is to manage preservation, collection, and processing of data for litigation, corporate, ethics and regulatory matters. The work performed by this team mitigates risk to the company and contributes to cost savings. The Practice Support Specialist function supports the Practice Support team and the firm's attorneys around document processing and information governance standards. We are seeking a self-motivated individual, who can handle sensitive matters and who is willing to be a team player.

Required Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in e-discovery processing work as a paralegal, litigation support professional, IT support professional, or similar role at an eDiscovery service provider

  • Extensive experience with processing data in Nuix or ECapture

  • Able to collaborate effectively with multiple team members across various departments

  • Qualified candidates will have experience in using legal processing technologies to process data into formats for database loads.

  • Candidates must be familiar with other litigation and corporate legal technology to properly handle a case or deal from beginning to end.

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to prioritize and solve problems with limited guidance and management

  • Working knowledge, experience or proficiency with eDiscovery databases such as Relativity or EclipseSE

  • Working knowledge, experience or proficiency with legal data repositories such as CaseMap, TextMap, and IManage

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute activities relating to the identification, preservation and collection of client information

  • Assist Director of Practice Support with Information Governance workflows and standards

  • Handle all firm litigation data processing; setting workflows to develop processing of firm wide litigation data in house

  • SME on projects to upgrade or replace processing technologies

  • Responsible for maintaining auditable reports on client data locations and data processing results

  • Logging and organizing received production and original client media

  • Able to become familiar with forensic collections and best data collection standards

  • Understanding of the EDRM and the IGRM and how they interconnect; knowledge of information governance best practices

  • Adherence to processes and procedures while remaining results oriented and questioning the status quo

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite; able to quickly master new software applications as needed

  • Sound judgment, analytical skills, curiosity and practicality. This includes the ability to see trends and ask questions to predict problems before they come to fruition.

  • Willingness to work extended hours to meet legal deadlines; adapts well to change

Manage assigned helpdesk tickets and phone calls using best practices, excellent communications skills and IT department procedures to perform technical support. Review and complete assigned tickets within established Service Level Agreements (SLA). Promote excellent customer relations in every customer transaction, contact and communication. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. * Perform general technical support and troubleshooting of desktop systems hardware and software, local telephony, truck systems, printers, multi-function printers, scanners, video conferencing systems, mobile devices and other technologies as defined and required. * Investigate system issues and provide solutions using specific product knowledge, system tools and established methods and procedures. Document solutions and maintain helpdesk ticket information and transactions as required and within established SLA. * Work with desktop engineering to refine desktop configurations. Plan, test and implement new or revised desktop solutions. * Work with the team to resolve low level hardware and software issues. * Resolve basic problems, provide remote assistance, document and manage tickets as call load dictates and within defined SLA. * Participate in desktop, peripheral, building moves, additions, support and other projects as defined and required. * Work with Desktop Engineering to maintain accurate hardware and software inventories. * Complete assigned project task of low to medium complexity resulting in successful, on time, high quality deliverables. * Perform other duties as assigned.
