Under the direction of the Practice Director, the Practice Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of daily operations of the practice and all sites within the practice. The Supervisor has responsibility for coordinating the daily activities of the team, monitoring the work flow, delegating and making work assignments, assuring appropriate training is maintained, assisting team members in problem resolution, providing reports of individual and team performance to the Practice Manager. The Supervisor is responsible for performance reviews, merit processes, hiring, coaching and time recording for payroll.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the work of office employees to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems.

  • Resolve patient complaints or answer patient's questions regarding policies and procedures.

  • Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems or in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.

  • Review records or reports pertaining to activities such as billing, charges and scheduling, monitor work activities, and evaluate performance.

  • Recruit, interview, and select employees.

  • Interpret and communicate work procedures and company policies to staff.

  • Evaluate employees' job performance and conformance to regulations and recommend appropriate personnel action.

  • Train or instruct employees in job duties or company policies or arrange for training to be provided.

  • Assist candidates and Medical Staff Service Department with hospital application/credentialing

  • Work closely with hospital Medical Staff to maintain current credentials on all staff.

  • Work as needed with various departments including Administration, HR, Provider Enrollment, Billing, Information Technologies for communication and demands of practice.

Qualifications

  • Associated degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six-months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Requires 1-3 years of experience in a Medical setting, preferable in a Physician practice.

  • Requires at least 1-2 years of supervisory experience.

  • Healthcare background is strongly desirable.

  • Proficiency in a windows environment with a working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and the Internet is required.

  • Knowledge of Supervision, Training and Development and public relations practices.

  • EMR/EHT experience preferred, NextGen experience preferred.
