Summary

Reporting to the Clinical Leader or Clinical Manager and under the direction of the practice providers, the Clinical Practice Nurse 1 delivers high quality patient care including assessment, treatment, planning, and care evaluation. The Clinical Practice Nurse 1 uses knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, assesses clinical data reflective of the patient's health status and interprets information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs. The Clinical Practice Nurse 1 engages in caring relationships with patients, families, and caregivers, works collaboratively with the health care team, and uses sound judgments while performing nursing interventions.

Education

Minimum requirements: Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.

Certification, Registration & Licensure

Licensure required: New Hampshire Board of Nursing license

Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification or Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers

Experience

Demonstrated ability to effectively and positively interact with a multi-disciplinary staff, patients, and others.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes priorities in organizing daily activities and maintains efficient patient flow.

  • Triages patient phone calls following established guidelines and prescribed format for identifying patient's health problems or concerns, and providing quality patient care.

  • Administers prescribed medications.

  • Provides education to patients in response to identified patient needs.

  • Documents health information, interventions, and outcomes into the patient electronic medical record.

  • Delegates patient care activities using the five rights: right task, person, direction, circumstance, and

supervision (ensuring the task has been completed satisfactorily and documentation is complete) and

providing feedback to delegatee and manager.

  • Applies principles of purposeful, organized thinking based on the nursing process to make sound clinical judgment and decisions.

  • Completes practice specific clinical skill competencies on an annual basis.

Located on the ground floor of the new Memorial West Building, we are home not only to outpatient General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, and Electrophysiology, but also Cardiothoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, the Integrated Vascular Clinic, Pacemaker and Device Clinic, and more! We are a fast paced, busy office with 24 outstanding Cardiology providers!</p><p>This is a day position with no weekends, off shift rotation, or recognized holidays!</p><p>Opportunities for cross training within the Cardiovascular Institute available!</p><p>If you are a dedicated, dependable, team player who thrives as part of a team, this is the position for you!</p><p>As a Medical Assistant on our team, you would:</p><ul><li><p>Greet and escort patients to exam rooms</p></li><li><p>Schedule appointments as needed</p></li><li><p>Obtain and document patient's vital signs, medical history and reason for visit</p></li><li><p>Notify the provider of the patient's arrival</p></li><li><p>Assist provider with exam as necessary</p></li><li><p>Complete EKGs for patients</p></li><li><p>Complete medication refill requests from patient's according to established policy and protocol</p></li><li><p>Place cardiac heart monitors on patients and educate the patients on their specific cardiac heart monitor</p></li><li><p>Stock and clean exam rooms and medical areas as needed</p></li><li><p>Follow office protocols for test procedures and patient visit documentation</p></li><li><p>Follow medical provider instructions with accuracy and timeliness</p></li><li><p>Resolve interpersonal conflicts that arise in a professional manner</p></li><li><p>Maintain a professional appearance</p></li><li><p>Maintain consistent attendance, reliability, and punctuality</p></li><li><p>Maintain a courteous, considerate, and respectful demeanor with management, co-workers and patients</p></li><li><p>Accept constructive criticism and attempt to use it to improve personal practice</p></li><li><p>And more!</p></li></ul><p>Candidate must be:</p><ul><li><p>Detail-oriented</p></li><li><p>Able to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment</p></li><li><p>Self-directed</p></li><li><p>Able to work both independently and collaboratively with other team members</p></li><li><p>Customer service driven</p></li></ul><p>Education</p><p>Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
