As Practice Optometrist you will evaluate, screen, diagnose and treat for ocular diseases, perform primary vision care, to include prescribing for eyeglasses, fitting for contact lenses and providing vision therapy.
Performs general optometric examinations and evaluates general conditions.
Provides specialized testing to diagnose, treat and manage ocular disease including, diabetes and high blood pressure
Provides contact lens examinations, visual field examinations, tonometry, low vision evaluation and ocular photography.
Writes prescriptions for glasses, contact lenses, corrective lenses, orthoptics and non-optical aids.
Administers drugs to patients to aid in the diagnosis of vision problems and prescribe drugs to treat some eye diseases.
Assists patients with the insertion and removal of lenses and instructs on proper use of solutions for care.
Doctoral Degree in Optometry, required.
Licensed to practice as an Optometrist in the State of New York, required.
Basic Life Support certification, preferred.
Minimum of one (1) years optometry experience, including extensive experience with specialty contact lens fitting, required. Experience in optics or visual science, preferred.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, required.
