The Role

As a Technical Practice Manager, you will be leading members of the Veeva Systems Technical Services group working on building strong teams from the ground up. This team tackles only the most complex problems working to simplify them and ensure the customer's speed and success.

The ideal candidate will contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels to cultivate an amazing and innovative Veeva culture. You will facilitate our Technical Services team in defining and following best practices, recruiting new team members and helping current team members to advance in their position. You will demonstrate your ability to work in a global and cross-functional team environment.

What You'll Do

  • Build and lead an amazing team of Technical Architects focused on long-term customer success

  • Provide subject matter expertise on Vault Platform, technical design, and Software as a Service (SaaS) implementation best practices

  • Take complex concepts and articulate them to audiences of varying perception levels

  • Design, implement, and provide subject matter expertise for the development of custom applications

  • Manage integration, development projects, and resources

  • Contribute to our professional services knowledge base

  • Evangelize the value of Veeva's Technical Services

  • Support the sales team and solution consultants in winning new business

  • Work closely with customers to understand their pain points and recommend efficient solutions

  • Accountable for customer success from beginning to end of the project life cycle


  • 5+ years leading, hiring, and growing technical teams

  • 5+ years working in a SaaS developer capacity preferably Java-based

  • Experience in translating business requirements into software specifications including writing and reviewing technical documentation

  • Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably with a software professional services organization or consulting background

  • Ability to articulate and implement integration architecture

  • Proven ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, but also as part of a remote team

  • Ability to travel 25-30% (may include international)

You must be smart with a high EQ.</p><p><br></p><p>As Project Manager, you will define, prioritize, and oversee AiCure’s deployment (clinical trials and population health) from planning to closeout. Your ability to communicate and unlock the value of our technology for clients is critical. Tasks include timeline management, managing scope, adhering to regulatory requirements and SOPs, defining KPIs, developing specifications, as well as training and support. The Project Manager will work cross-functionally with the company’s leadership, sales, business development and engineering/product teams to deliver high quality, value adding solutions for our clients.</p><p><br></p><p>This role combines strategy with exceptional tactical execution. Excellent leadership and organizational skills are a must, experience with software implementation and support is important and knowledge of clinical trials from a research perspective is extremely helpful.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Project Management (60%)</strong></p><ul> <li>Manage all phases of each assigned project, including budget, invoicing, staffing, project plan and client deliverables while maintaining high client satisfaction by providing proactive communication and issue/risk management.</li> <li>Manage multiple projects concurrently that are deployed in the US and globally, ensuring high quality and timely deliverables in a dynamic environment.</li> <li>Coordinate with other Client Services personnel as well as Engineering and Product to ensure the timely and quality preparation of project deliverables based on assigned scope-of-services.</li> <li>Oversee development and approval of relevant clinical trial materials.</li> <li>Work with technical and site support teams to facilitate all project tasks.</li> <li>Ensure all project deliverables are in compliance with applicable local and national regulatory requirements as well as following the AiCure Quality Management System governance procedures.</li> <li>Oversee logistics and technical support, including providing hands on support, as defined by scope-of-services.</li> </ul><p><strong>Data/Site Management (20%)</strong></p><ul> <li>Manage identification and resolution of surveillance findings, communicating in a timely manner with internal team members and project sponsors.</li> <li>Manage communications with client (e.g., pharmaceutical sponsor, CRO) and site personnel regarding site/study details.</li> <li>Develop and track KPIs and metrics related to successful project performance and oversight.</li> <li>Coordinate delivery of data reports (e.g., weekly, interim, final, etc.) for project sponsors.</li> </ul><p><strong>Account Management (10%)</strong></p><ul> <li>Maximize opportunities at existing clients for AiCure, encompassing Change Orders and new projects</li> <li>Manage relationships within assigned client accounts including routine written, telephone and face-to-face communication</li> <li>Acts as the internal customer advocate to ensure client success</li> <li>Participate in governance meetings with project sponsors </li> <li>Communicate project status, risks, and escalations to the AiCure leadership and account management team</li> </ul><p><strong>Process &amp; Administration (10%)</strong></p><ul> <li>Provide ongoing career development, mentoring and performance feedback for incoming Project Managers, Project Specialists and Project Assistants</li> <li>Enhance the AiCure business model by institutionalizing business processes, implementing best practices and templates, and seeking ways to work more efficiently</li> <li>Contribute to the development of AiCure's product offerings by working closely with the Product team</li> <li>Help create an environment with good morale and a strong work ethic</li> </ul><p>Note: Other duties may be assigned as appropriate</p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or related field </li> <li>At least three (3) years’ experience in project management ideally in healthcare technology or in the Pharmaceutical industry. Clinical trial working knowledge a plus.</li> <li>Understand the software life cycle and the specification and configuration of software products</li> <li>Must be self-directed, results-oriented coupled with strong attention to detail, strong people skills and good judgment. Forward-thinking with ability to take initiative. Many of the operational processes are evolving daily with each new deployment.</li> <li>Must possess strong client and vendor relationship skills, with an ability to convey complex service project information and resolve project issues.</li> <li>Must be able to focus and prioritize effectively to complete his/her work in a demanding, deadline oriented environment. </li> <li>Ownership and management of project budgets, invoicing, project workplans, resource allocation and deliverable management. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.</li> <li>Experience managing direct and indirect resources in a functionally matrixed environment.
