Overview:

Mercy Practice Managers are directly responsible for the oversight of daily operations and staff supervision. They ensure professional and technical operation of clinical unit with moderate complexity and that all policies and procedures are followed on a day-to-day basis. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 4+ years experience in a physician or medical office AND Leadership or Prior Supervisory experience

  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Other: Knowledge of managed care billing practices and experience with Microsoft Office

Primary duties may include, but not limited to: * Verifies member information and reviews prescriber requests for specialty medical reviews via prior authorization system * Processes prior authorization requests from physician offices and ensures compliance with criteria and plan requirements * Interprets prior authorization requests using system logic and applicable departmental workflow processes * Ability to communicate effectively with technicians and pharmacists to support the case review process Qualifications * Requires High School diploma and up to 2 years of pharmacy experience, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. * Requires current unrestricted State Pharmacy Tech license or Certification or National Certification based on applicable state(s) requirements. * Good computer and written, oral and interpersonal communications skills required.
