Description:


American Health Network is seeking a strategic, motivated, and reliable Practice Manager to run a busy Family Medicine Practice site located in Fredericktown, Ohio. This person will be responsible for managing the daily operations and supervision of employees. This person reports to the Ohio East Regional Director.


Duties:


Serve as a liaison between medical practitioners and employees Daily office management and supervision of employees Develop and maintain all practice policies and procedures Provides orientation, education, and re-education as needed for employees Approves time and attendance for payroll Processes accounts payable Office and medical supply management Compliance audits Operational reporting New Initiative Implementation Operational Expense Control Addresses patient and office issues Manages provider office visit templates Assists billing department with billing and coding audits Maintains a meeting schedule with provider and non-provider employees If you have the ability to work at a faster than average pace, and are seeking a high profile position in a growing company, this could be the role for you!

Requirements:
Must have at least an Bachelor#s degree in management/related health field OR 10 years similar healthcare management experience Must have at least three years# experience in managing employees in a medical office Must be excellent in HR management Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, identify and resolve issues Must have knowledge of current medical terminology Must be comfortable using MS Office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel Prefer someone with EMR experience; NextGen experience a plus.

We provide a variety of social services to Los Angeles area communities such as Head Start programs, Upward Bound college prep programs, veterans' services, homeless shelters, low-income housing program as well as drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Through our Head Start and Early Head Start programs, we work with children (ages 2 – 5) and their families to provide the skills, confidence and stable home life necessary for a smooth transition into kindergarten and beyond. Head Start positions are generally Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 4:15 pm (10-1/2 months per year). Responsibilities: The Home Visitor supports the Early Head Start program cornerstones of child development, family development, community-building and staff development. This role fosters the view and practice in parents that they are their child's first teacher and provides practical suggestions to families to reinforce this concept. The Home Visitor: * Identifies, recruits and enrolls families for participation in the Head Start Program * Maintains caseload of 10 - 12 families; visits each family home for at least 90 minutes weekly * Consults with families and staff to identify the challenges and needs of each family and/or child; explores and suggests possible solutions * Works with parents to make weekly activity and home visit plans based on the child's assessment and identified family needs * Works with parents to establish and attain agreed-upon goals * Plans, implements and participates in socializations twice monthly * Acts as a liaison between community resources and Head Start families * Helps families as necessary to arrange and keep medical and dental appointments required by Head Start Requirements: The Home Visitor must have: * Bachelor's degree, preferably in Child Development or related field including: * 24 semester units in Early Childhood Education and/or Child Development * 6 units infant/toddler studies * 12 semester units in General Education * Valid Child Development Teacher Permit preferred * Experience working with and knowledge of community resources * Excellent computer skills including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel * Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with family, staff and community members * Valid California driver's license and access to dependable automobile with adequate insurance in order to make home visits and/or to travel to different school and office sites * Fingerprint clearance prior to employment * First aid and CPR certification Health Requirements: * Proof at the time of hire * TB clearance within 6 months prior * Annual Influenza vaccination (between Aug 1 – Dec 1) * Pertussis (whooping cough) and measles immunization * Health screening at the time of employment * Requires ability to interact with children in a busy environment including, but not limited to: * Able to lift up to 50 lbs * Frequently kneel and squat * Ability to move quickly Additional Preferred: * Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and oral) desirable * Minimum of 2 years of experience working in child development, social work, parent involvement or health education in a Head Start or Early Head Start program is a plus Volunteers of America is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
