The Wells Fargo Advisors (WFA) Practice Management Consultant Team Lead (PMCTL) will oversee a team of St. Louis Practice Management Consultants who utilize best practice programs such as: DELTA, Focused Strategies, Velocity, and Gateway to engage field leaders, financial advisors and their teams to reach their full potential. This position will report to the Director or Practice Management.
The PMCTL will work closely with the Director of Practice Management and key groups within Client Experience and Growth, PCG, WBS and FiNet to aid and guide financial advisors, their teams, and field leaders in the adoption and dissemination of proven best practices and other key strategies through disciplined telephone coaching programs.
This PMCTL will also fulfill the role of player-coach by coaching and guiding field professionals to increase their personal productivity, effectiveness and efficiency in delivering an exceptional client experience.
This successful key contributor's responsibilities will include:
Overseeing development of the St. Louis team of Practice Management Consultants and their delivery of our consulting programs
Deliver coaching to advisors and teams in our 1:1 and group coaching programs
Provide guidance, counsel and direction to existing St. Louis PMCs to help them continually improve their coaching skills and program results
Developing a vision, understand key concepts, and implement practice changing strategies to meet strategic goals, drive revenue, decrease advisor attrition, and improve the client experience
Strengthening FA - client relationships and deepening FA-Team relationships
Aiding in the adoption of Firm-based productivity and planning tools that aid advisors and managers in adhering to fiduciary standards, including: Envision, Plan-2-Pie, SmartStation and Contact Management
Identifying issues/opportunities and providing recommendations for participants based on personal coaching experience and alignment with firm goals and business line variances.
Leveraging internal firm partners to solve issues and improve program outcomes.
Capturing and learning new best practice ideas from the field for content upgrades and future program development.
Developing and delivering both individual and group coaching programs for all field audiences on specific focused strategies to increase their effectiveness and ultimately enhance client relationships.
Ongoing maintenance, enhancement and delivery of existing practice management and proven strategies programs.
Participating as needed in manager and financial advisor development meetings, orientation programs and workshops. Also assisting in the development and delivery of content and creation of agendas for meetings, workshops and symposiums.
Documenting coaching interactions to ensure accurate records are maintained and consistent methodology is utilized throughout the group.
Participating in skill assessment process and cross-training to ensure competency in effectively coaching all field audiences.
Participating in special projects and assignments as directed.
Assisting branch managers as needed in coaching FAs to deliver on the firm's key strategies, i.e. advice quality, alignment, advisory focus, liability management and adopting best practices with the goal of delivering an ideal client experience.
Developing tools, resources and job aids to help in synthesizing information to make it easier for field professionals to adopt changes.
Identifying issues/opportunities and providing recommendations for Participants based on personal coaching experience in alignment with Firm goals and business line variances.
Critical to success in this role, the preferred candidate will:
Exhibit thorough knowledge and experience of coaching model and curriculum content including scripts, talking points, and personal examples from Participants.
Provide coaching services for Participants to implement proven strategies and reset their practice, provide more control, grow in revenue, and leverage marketing/digital strategies.
Deliver interactive coaching services through one-on-one and group conference calls, graduate workshop general and breakout sessions, and virtual learning presentations.
Build advisor confidence to recognize their true value to clients, and foster an environment of growth and opportunity.
Use communication styles and pacing to establish rapport which leads to trust, the foundation of change.
Provide consistent interaction and accessibility in order to encourage dialogue, address thoughts and questions, and to ensure participant engagement and retention.
Build close relationships with PMCs in order to work collectively and efficiently.
Build strong collaborative relationships with key business partners throughout the enterprise.
Develop, build, and share best practice ideas, habits, and strategic initiatives.
Take initiative to accomplish tasks and projects that will further increase the value of Practice Management Consulting.
Align activities and projects to broader scope of Wells Fargo Advisors.
Understand how the work of Practice Management contributes to the overall health of the department and the firm.
This position is based in St. Louis, MO. Relocation assistance is NOT available.
A BS/BA degree or higher
6+ years of brokerage industry experience
6+ years of business development experience
FINRA registration including Series 66 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Management experience for management level direct reports
Knowledge and understanding of Salesforce
Other Desired Qualifications
3+ years of proven ability to collaborate and build consensus within a team
6+ years of experience coaching Financial Advisors and other Team Members within a Team
Large and small group presentation experience
Other professional designations
