Serves as an administrative liaison to surgical patients throughout all phases of surgery.
1.Meets with surgical candidates to educate and guide them through the various steps leading up to surgery.
Schedules and coordinates pre-surgical testing appointments for patients.
Provides follow-up and reschedules missed appointments with patients, as needed.
Verifies insurance coverage for elective surgeries, high dollar services and patients with on-going courses of treatment. Arranges for alternative payment methods, as needed.
Provides educational literature and ensures all appropriate forms are completed and signed by both physician and patient.
Answers non-clinical questions and ensures patients' needs are addressed.
Provides administrative support and customer service at department's pre-surgical information seminars attended by surgical candidates.
2.Facilitates post surgery follow-up with patients to ensure patient satisfaction.
3.Administers patient surveys, gathers results and reports findings to management.
4.Maintains comprehensive patient database consisting of pre-surgical status, post-operative outcomes, patient satisfaction, complicating factors, etc.
5.Gathers various department metrics and provides reports to management.
6.Recommends and supports department performance improvement activities.
7.Performs related duties as required.
ADA Essential Functions
HighSchool Diploma or equivalent, required.
Minimumof three (3) years administrative support experience, required.
Workingknowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel), required.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, oral,written and presentation skills, required.
