PR Specialist | San Francisco, CA
The PR Specialist is responsible for delivering on communications and PR for Informa Technology Group's portfolio of technology events spanning Information Security, Enterprise IT, Enterprise Communications, IT Service & Support and Game and Application Developers. Main responsibilities include helping to drive event public relations through proactive media outreach, press release writing, maintaining targeted media lists, staying abreast of the latest industry happenings and building/maintaining positive brand recognition in the market. Other responsibilities include scheduling and staffing media briefings, providing onsite event support in the media centers when needed and tracking coverage. Secondary work will include support of other Informa Technology events as needed. This position is an excellent opportunity for growth within a larger, industry-leading marketing and PR team, while networking and nurturing relationships with industry professionals, media and influencers.
Drive communication plan deliverables for Informa Technology Group's portfolio of events, executing against the defined goals of each brand while seeking new opportunities for positive publicity and liaising with management and clients.

Support each event with PR and communications tactics such as:
Assist with development of strategic PR plans across multiple brands YOY
Press release writing
Manage and update targeted press lists
Proactively pitch, build and maintain relationships with trade (design, gaming, technology) and business press/analyst/blogger/influencer communities, securing event and external client coverage
Attend Informa events, and schedule and staff interviews for spokespeople and external clients
Create valuable and insightful briefing sheets to assist spokespeople and external clients with press communications
Help manage the media and PR areas of the brands' websites: including press registration setup, management of qualifying credentialed members of the media and logging event related news.
Technical efficiency is important to learn new internal processes and systems
Attend team meetings, helping to deliver PR results and updates and field/voice any concerns as they relate to each event.
Manage exhibitor communications as they relate to public relations, including distribution of press lists, coordination of exhibitor announcements at events, assistance in coordinating media tours and exhibitor/media meeting spaces, managing exhibitor center PR tasks and other exhibitor communications-related needs.
Support events, either onsite or from corporate headquarters as specific needs for each brand dictate, including monitoring and collecting coverage, creating daily event PR and coverage recaps for teams, proactively pitching both onsite and remote press, working with marketing team to spread news via social media channels and continue conversation on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and all related channels.
Avidly follow the news agenda and build a solid understanding of the media landscape by reading industry publications and becoming familiar with longstanding media relationships.
1+ years of demonstrated PR and/or promotional marketing experience. Agency experience is a plus.
Detail-oriented with ability to handle various tasks simultaneously under multiple deadlines strong time management abilities required.
Strong writing and editing skills.

Excellent follow-through and follow-up skills.
Interest and/or experience in technology as it pertains to Information Security, Enterprise IT, Enterprise Communications, IT Service & Support; high comfort level with technology and ability to up-level technological communications.
Experience with/knowledge of essential tasks: pitching media, drafting press releases and researching media contacts.
Self-motivated with ability to work with multiple teams and take direction from multiple individuals.
Some travel required determined by event needs.
Proactive problem solving skills with a team-oriented work approach.
