UPLIFT Desk is seeking a Public Relations and Marketing Specialist to manage both Marketing initiatives and day-to-day media and public relations activity for client accounts. This role will be responsible for executing public relations and media plans including writing press releases and media alerts, social media management, facilitating photoshoots and filming opportunities, managing media inquiries, staffing press, and client events, creating marketing copy and content and pitching, securing and reporting on media coverage. This candidate must have the ability to demonstrate the inner workings of the PR process.
Manage and grow UPLIFT Desks public relations and communications programs to strategically position UPLIFT Desk in the marketplace.
Write and distribute pitches, bios, fact sheets, PR plans, call sheets, media alerts, press releases, talking points, articles, website, newsletter and other types of content as assigned.
Attend client meetings and calls, drafting agendas, taking meeting notes and drafting recaps.
Regularly monitor various PR lead sources to identify and pitch relevant client opportunities.
Create, maintain and distribute weekly and monthly client reports to the appropriate contacts.
Ensure media lists are comprehensive, well-maintained and up-to-date on various media platforms.
Manage aspects of special events including invites and RSVPs, staffing check-in, following up with key attendees and providing event recaps.
Create editorial content, plans, and calendars; manage the distribution of content including channels and frequency/cadence.
Maintain organized, clearly labeled client and project files in shared virtual workspace.
Work within assigned timelines to complete tasks and assignments before deadlines, tracking time and documenting efforts in a project management system
Develop, foster, and maintain media relations
Build relationships and conduct outreach with key influencers (internal and external) to engage them in actively promoting the company brand and products.
Understanding of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, and Instagram) and solid experience working with bloggers.
Assist marketing management with corporate website to update page content as needed.
Develop and manage a portfolio of non-profit and for-profit partnerships.
Highly organized, task and detail-oriented.
Self-motivated and eager to learn
Able to work effectively alone or as part of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effective multi-tasker; able to manage a variety of projects, tasks, and deadlines concurrently.
Familiarity with local and national media and all major social media platforms.
In-depth experience with Google Analytics and keyword research tools
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
2+ years experience in Public Relations, marketing, advertising or communication setting.
E-commerce experience preferred
Bachelors degree or some college preferred
Experience with B2B versus B2C marketing a plus
SEO and keyword optimization experience preferred
Candidates must submit a portfolio with examples of Public relation campaign in order to be considered for this position.
