Role Summary

  • Maintain and repair VWGoA corporate vehicles as needed; develop and document repair procedures and validate repair information.

  • Coordinate a team of employees daily or as required during peak workload times under the direction of the Supervisor.

  • Serve as the back-up for the Port Technical Quality Representative as liaison for the factories and VWGoA.

  • Manage and input any of the financial systems or reports exclusive to VWGoA employees and pertinent to VWGoA business.

Role Responsibilities

Lead Technician/Technical (90%)

  • Repairs, tests, maintains, and updates VW/Audi vehicles to the latest technical level

  • Communicates problems and solutions to VWGoA/VWaG Quality departments

  • Tests vehicles under varying conditions to determine and document cause of problems

  • Evaluates new diagnostic systems and procedures; verifies GFF and service publications

  • Performs and evaluates repairs according to newly developed repair information

  • Provides recommendations to internal departments for modifications to repair procedures

  • Performs accurate and timely analysis of failure modes in assigned models

  • Tests and validates field fixes

  • Provides on-site vehicle launch support; order parts as needed

  • Prioritizes and plans testing procedure sequence

  • Develops and manufactures test fixtures and diagnostic techniques

  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment, shop tools, and equipment necessary for stop orders

Coordination/Back-up Support (10%)

  • Coordinates a team of employees (under the Supervisor's direction) to perform Stop Orders, PDI, or any other PQT work and works with Supervisor and other team coordinators to organize teams as required

  • Maintains training records for all employees on assigned team

  • Maintains stop order inspection and rework data for all vehicles affected by stop orders; reports all data as requested by Supervisor or Management

  • Inspects MDO vehicles for quality issues; reports findings to appropriate Quality Engineers

  • Maintains data for all MDO Quality inspected vehicles on assigned team; reports data as requested by Supervisor or Management

  • Inspects Paint & Body vehicles for quality issues; reports findings to appropriate Supervisor

  • Reports PDI vehicle data as requested by Supervisor or Management

  • Organizes task force teams as needed

Years of Experience:
5-7 years of Automotive experience

Education Required

Bachelor's Degree in Automotive Technology or related field or equivalent

Skills:

  • Computer savvy skilled in the use of software

Specialized Skills, Knowledge or Certifications Required

Required:

  • Requires one of the following:

  • Four ASE certifications (A5, A6, A7, A8)

  • Master Volkswagen Technician

  • Audi Master Guild

  • Lead a PQT team under Supervisor direction

  • One ASE Paint Certification

  • Extensive Volkswagen and/or Audi product knowledge

  • Experience with VW/Audi diagnostic tools and equipment programs

  • Extensive experience using VW/Audi wiring diagrams

  • Thorough knowledge of the tools and procedures applicable to the trade, and knowledge of safety equipment

  • Some accessory installation experience

Desired:

  • German and/or Spanish language skills

  • ASE Master Certification (Automotive and/or Paint Technician)

Work Flexibility:

  • Domestic travel required approximately 10 40%

  • International travel required less than 20%

  • Business travel to support launch functions as required often requires weekend travel (approximately 5%)

Actively participates in Case Management and Treatment Team meetings. Serves as on-going educator to all departments. Responsible for reviewing patient charts in order to assess whether the criteria for admission and continuation of treatment is being met; gathering data and responding to request for records from fiscal intermediary; gathering clinical and fiscal information and communicating status of both open and closed accounts for multiple levels of Utilization Review and Case Management reporting. Able to work independently and use sound judgment. Knowledge of Federal, State, and intermediary guidelines related to inpatient, acute care hospitalization, as well as lower levels of care for the continuity of treatment. Coordinates discharge referrals as requested by clinical staff, fiscal intermediary, patients, and families. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications 1. Medical Graduate, PA, or Nursing Graduate required. 2. ECFMG Certification / Bachelor�s or higher from a US-based accredited institution in a Health and Human Services field is highly preferred. 3. Utilization Review experience preferred. 4. Must meet the performance standards set forth by the Hospital/ Department at UR Coordinator I position for at least 6 months. 5. In order to be promoted to UR Coordinator II position; the Employee must meet certain performance standards as defined by the Hospital/Department. 6. In order to be promoted to Corporate Case Manager position; the Employee must meet certain performance standards as defined by the Hospital/ Department and obtain the Certified Case Manager credential. 1+ year of utilization review experience is highly preferred. 7. 1+ year of clinical experience in acute care setting preferred. 8. 1+ year of experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding in an acute care setting preferred. 9. Experience with use of an encoder software product for code assignment in an acute care setting preferred. 10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent critical thinking skills. 11. Excellent interpersonal skills to build effective partnering relationships with physicians, nurse staff, coding staff and hospital management staff. 12. Ability to work independently in a time-oriented environment. 13. Computer literacy and familiarity with the operation of basic office equipment 14.
