This engineer will focus on performing 1D CFD engine simulation and analysis to support engine development. The engineer will be responsible to develop engine simulation model, run the model, post process and communicate results from engine simulations. The individual will receive requests from Engine and Systems specialists and respond with thermodynamic results using the available analytic tools.
Air path model development and simulation
Turbocharger system modeling
Control algorithm development for control engine load, speed, fueling, exhaust temperature, engine out emissions and tailpipe emissions
Fast run model and real time model development for virtual control
Master of Science degree in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or Applied Physics from an ABET accredited university
Minimum 4 years' experience in engine performance analysis, engine flow and combustion or related areas
Experience with engineering analysis tools for engine modeling and simulation (e.g. GT-Power, Wave or Boost, Star CD, Converge, FLuent etc.)
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Outstanding interpersonal and problem solving skills
Demonstrated technical problem solving
Good overall knowledge of internal combustion engines, boosting systems, engine control systems, engine combustion and after treatment
Experience in engine experimental/Dyno tests
Good knowledge and experience in chemical kinetic mechanism
Good skill in programming with commercial software (e.g. Visual Basic, Visual C++ or Matlab Simulink)
